You can do same for the 4.6 if look around. The 5.0 system will drop in a couple years just like the 5th Gen systems.

Maybe not but they need a ton of mods and an aftermarket S/C.

doesn't it kind of kill the streetability of the car having a cage in it?

i know that when i had installed a 6 point in my 83 mustang, it was ok for about the first week.....after that, it was a pain in the *** getting in and out........

9's in this car will not be till next year.

And I have been in the low 9's at over 150 just wasn't my car. Was my dads BB Vega. N/a no ***** power adder as he would say.

Cool, I'm happy for you.

It's okay to get excited every once in a while. Just don't float your boat until you get your first single digit slip. Mid 10's ain't that fast! Heck, I'm in the mid-high 9's trapping mid-140's and I'm one of the slowest cars in my circle. lol

A buddy with a C5 with a LS2 stroker 383 Procharged making right around 800whp(more boost and spray). On his 650whp set up(lS2 stock cu in procharged less boost) he went 10.6@137 on street tires. He should be taking to track soon.

Then a Termi that mnakes 775whp that has been in the bottom 10's when it made 700whp.

Plus a 350Z that makes almost 800whp. It is biult for high way but has went 10.8@143 leaving easy.

And a EVo that will be finished up here soon that went from 650whp to 800whp with new biuld. On teh 650 it went 10.7@139. Its biult for teh street as well.

And a few other vettes making over 600whp.

and last but no least the TT Lambo that makes 1258whp and crushes us all and has trapped right around 160mph.

Sweet! My clique consists of two 2JZ's both north of 1000rwhp, a 249 stroker/GTQ/76 trim and nitrous Turbo Regal, and BB-N20 '73 Camaro..all faster than me. lol

At the track not all them are faster then me. But on the street they walk me pretty bad. Traction is a wonderfull thing.

My ET is about .6 faster then the TT Lambo. He don't launch it at all just rolls into it and runs 11.2@158. On the street on lowest 700whp setting he walked me hard.

Not sure how bolt-ons(and cage for track) would kill the street-ability of a car that has no surging(stock cam), A/C, leather seats, navi, full-exhaust car that gets more than 20+ mpg on the highway??

I guess now we can blame GM for making a car that goes 9's (requiring a cage) after only a few bolt-ons

Good thing we have Ford’s that you can mod to hell and still not be fast enough to require a cage!!

Most these guys biuld for the street. They don't care about 1/4 mile. Hell most have been to the drag strip a hand full of times.

nope....not going there at all. bolt ons don't. my question was about the cage. as i said....i had one in my 83. i'm a skinny ****, so getting over it wasn't that hard. but it got annoying VERY fast. to me, that interferes with streetability somewhat.......

I believe tim lynch went low 6s in his c5 vette too at 23xmph but dont remember his exact setup
