Default Not really a race...but, a funny *** story...

so my brother (20 yrs old) has been talking for a month about buying a 600 hp mustang. blah, blah blah. well his friend bought it and asked my dad to leave it at his house while he is in california. so dad brings it down yesterday and lets me drive it. i pull out and try to put my foot through the floorboard and the damn tires don't even roll over...ROFLMAO! the car is a pig. its a 98 gt with 03 bumpers, hood, seats, brakes, gauge cluster. the car seems like it was setup at one time with subframe connectors, aftermarket control arms etc. but i look under the hood and as far as i'm concerned it's a stock 4.6 with an auto trans. i take my dad for a ride in my Trans Am and all he can say is "holy ****, this thing would kick the **** out of that mustang" gotta love dad...call it how it is. the kicker is that this kid paid $13,000 for this mustang...Damn. guess they saw him coming. i told my brother...don't bring that p.o.s into my town again or i'd have to embarrass him...lol. kids...gotta love it.

13k for a '98 gt?!? LMFAO

Jesus dude... 17k for a Mach, 13k for a GT. Whats this world coming to?
I wouldn't be shocked that the tires couldn't turn over. The 98 GTs made like 220hp or some **** stock. Combined with the fact that those horses are now decrepit and on their way to the glue factory soon... I wouldn't have even tried it.

I was wondering the same thing, lol.

Sounds like someone got a deal, and it wasn't the guy who bought the car. Those non-PI GT's make a great starting point on which to build a sleeper, but you have to know what you're getting into first.

I remember a few years back my neighbor had a 1998ish GT with some bolt-ons. I don't think he was ever in a race in his life before, but randomly ends up next to PSM when he had his 11 second Z28. Everyone knows how that race went down, but afterward the guy thought it was because he started in 3rd and PSM started in 2nd. If I remember correctly, PSM didn't have the heart to tell him the real reason the guy lost.

i wondered too but the vin runs up a '98 gt and the hood has 03 cobra identification on it and the bumpers and everything are obviously from a Terminator.

That may be better (slightly, but not much). If it's got an 03 Cobra front fascia then I'd assume that its probably 99-04. Always the possibility of 94-97

Op, have you got the #s yet? I'm kind of curious as to how bad this thing has been Frankensteined.
