Default 00' Z28 A4 2.73s vs 07' Aprilia 1000r

Yup, i raced a 1000 with my new 00 camaro Saturday night. My buddy just got the bike and its more of a cruiser compared to his modded busa. Nice bike, pretty quick, so he wanted to mess around a little bit on the highway.

We did 1 run from about 45-50 to 135, he waited for my car to kick down and then also hit it. Believe it or not, i started to SLIGHTLY pull after 125. Me and my buddy were in shock!!

.....

.....

.....

How in the world did an automatic camaro with 2.73 gears keep up with a bike at basically the standards of a brand new R6??

A big *** hair dryer.

Just entered the world of FI and its friggin sweet. Car seen RIGHT under 10 psi on that run because it got pretty cool out at night. However i turned it down to 7-8 for everyday driving until it gets another tune. My buddy said he was "short shifting" but i think i kind of took him by suprise.

Flame on folks.

was it the naked Tueno bike or the full fairing RSV bike? A RSV should have been able to walk any Fbody under 500rwhp or so, but sounds like you might be around that power level if you got full boltons and a turbo at 10psi. The RSV's have always been disappointing in the power department and make up for it with ultra lightweight (magnesium engine for christs sake!) and great brakes and handling.

Not sure which model but it was really nice and he said around 450-500 pounds. No clue what power the car makes, they never had it on the dyno. The tune has to be super conservative because the previous owner who i know drove it on 10 pounds for quite a while.

its a SBE ls1 with rod bolts/valve springs, T70 and intercooled, nice turbo headers, thats about it. 3000 yank converter, and pretty much full weight aside from a BMR k-member. Car REALLY pulled that night but like i said i turned it back until i get it on the dyno.

Teuno is the naked bike which means it doesn't have all the fairings of a full on sport bike. Same motor though as the RSV. RSV is the full sport bike fairings one. Both of which are right around 400lbs

Gotchya, either way it was a nice bike and sounded really good, love those V twins. It was pretty cool to keep up with a street bike in a car that is dead silent. Cant say i miss lope and compression.

So you are saying you would rather have your car sound like a vacuum cleaner then this?

Ok no worries then, i wasn't sure how fast your setup was at this point and thought it might be a decent run if you're lighter than Joe's car.

He was using his phone, probably quoted you instead of me by accident.

Have you had your car at the track?

Nah not you Mike lol. As far as the weight i guess it would be right around full if you minus the K member and add the turbo kit, id say 3600 with me in it.
