Nice kill. I'm going to look it up now anyways, but what are the specs on the 2012 GT500?

mustangs are rated in the term % of mach1. in this case a 2012 gt500 would be about 59% of mach1.

They are rated 550 hp (I believe they dyno 480+) and I think 2011+ had the aluminum block and weighed 75-100lbs less than the early GT500's.

Good Kill. The 10bolt will handle that 150 shot from a roll. Well at least mine does.......

Is it the 2011+ GT500's that received a new engine based off the coyote platform which replaced the old 5.4L DOHC motor? Or is it the 2013 model with the huge bump in power?

Just seen the 2013 has a 5.8L. But is it a new engine platform or just an increased displacement of the previous 5.4L aluminum engine?

Pretty sure it's an updated version of the 5.4, but don't quote me. Has a 2.3 TVS I believe.

13 has the TVS, reworked 5.4 to 5.8L. They improved the cooling i know for sure to handle the power.

11-12 had 5.4 but was aluminum block not cast iron like the earlier models.

Did a quick search and you're right on SRZ. New 5.8L is an updated 5.4L from the previous year GT500. Same aluminum block, increased bore, cylinder heads have increased coolant flow, uses same cams from the Ford GT, piston-cooling oil jets similar to those in the 5.0 coyote, increased redline to 7k, increased compression to 9.0:1 from 8.5:1 and uses the 2.3 TVS blower.
