Default Willizm 335xi vs Hugger1975 z28

So a few of us got together and decided to get some runs in at No Limit Raceway. I was going to bring the Trans Am but fried my 3-4 clutches,,,,again,,,,, 4l80e with a trans brake on the way

First it should be said that this track sucks when it comes to prep. We showed up and tech'd in early. It's a pretty quiet track so getting runs in is easy. We had some issues with Huggers nitrous spraying properly which we were able to fix later on. I had a few good runs. My best run was against Jay although he was spinning a bit and nitrous no worky.

Willizm - 335xi - 6at - air filters, chargepipe, downpipes, FMIC, and Cobb AP stage 2 tune.

Hugger1975 - Z28 - 6mt - H/C/I, 9" spool,

Enjoy.

I didn't think I could even hang with his car, but even with all the disadvantages of crap prep and nitrous not working his worst pass still beat my best pass. I slept the light a bit and that cost me. I'm happy with my sedan though. Overall I was running consistent 12.6's with a 1.8 60'. Hugger was getting a bit faster once we got the nitrous running properly.

Side Notes:

Mach1 - Bolt on's ran high 13's, I tried to lane with him but he ended up running a minivan. We believe the minivan one too! It did sound like either a srt4 or 4g63 swapped minivan with not much done. It ran mid 13's i believe.

Civic - ran bottom 14's, it was a gutted and gsr swapped car. Didn't lane with it.

MazdaSpeed6 - Got a run in with this guy. He showed up with a group of guys. We setup a race but the owner wasn't confident in running it so one of his friends did. I put a good 4 lengths on him in the trap. I was 12.6 to his 13.5 IIRC.

Caliber srt4 vs Light bolt on 06 GTO - The gto kid I guess was confident so he ran the srt4 who had exhaust, dp, intake and tune. The SRT4 one by a length on the gto. It was pretty funny overall.

No worries, another time though. It was a good time. Redctsv came out with us and another one of Huggers friends showed up.

I wish the mods didn't close that thread I started because it was focused to SRK regulars. Whatever, water under the bridge

Why is Hugger so slow? It looks like there is a bunch of time left in his shifts....but I would still think it should et and mph better. Is it a slow or high altitude track?

dunno, It's a pretty common problem and think it's due to heat build up and having too much raw wheel horsepowerz.

I'm going 4l80e and giving up on it

Track was prepped poorly and I think he had to lift a few times to minimize wheel spin early on. He trapped 4mph faster at the end and started to pull away.

Still??? He is in bolt-on territory with runs like that. He should be in the 120 range for his trapps, probably more but his gear is holding his trap back a bit.

I think he is geared with 4.10's, but I'm not sure though. He had faster runs that day, but if you can't bury the throttle until 3rd gear you aren't going to trap that great. Track was **** and I'm AWD. I can run consistent whereas fbodies are a little more traction limited. He has ran high 11's IIRC at byron.

At the end of the day my car did well and still got beat even with traction issues.

Will car is a beast!

Dan will jump in here since I let him run it too.
My 1-2 and 3-4 is quick, my 2-3 is a lil slow.
I was in and out of the gas thru 1-2.

I gained 28-20mph from the 1/8 thru 1\4 though.

Def dissapointed but after 8 hard passes (if u can call them that since I was on DR and a spool and coulnt get under 1.9 slippin the clutch thru 100 feet) but I drove her home 90 miles without a hiccup :-)

I need to get back and drop the bitch at 5k with nos at full tilt to really get her goin.

And yes, I have 411.
I've never been at redline in 4th before this dayy but I tripped the limiter a few times goin thru the trap yesterday. Odd? Normally I am at 4500 and fig I culd go steeper gears till this happened.

Was fun as hell. First time I got to spray ***** out. Eve outa the hole. I actually quiet enjoyed the hit even thought the slip doesn't show it, it was a blast to see my winter nights till 3am installing it myself purge and the hit in 3rd and 4th.

We will all prob go to Byron once more and I have to decide if I wana run the hugger or the newly modded slobalt

Thanks, I can guarantee that I was the quietest 12 second car there while other loud and obnoxious cars were slower. I know I opened some eyes of the die hard old muscle types. "Just another ***** in a slow bimmer, wait, did it just run mid 12's WTF?!?!?!"

Gotta go to Byron from now on. That track is far better prepped. Wait, Aren't you supposed to be riding roller coasters and eating cotton candy? Kindly<---I couldn't resist

Good runs in the 335. What was your best trap?

Bad track prep sucks, I know from experience. But none of those shifts in the Z were anywhere close to fast lol.

111.29mph was my personal best so far with no meth. I haven't had a run on meth yet. I shipped my kit out to my vegas place to put it on my 135i
