Default first kill after HCI swap

I just got my 2000 C5 back from Lashway Motorsports in Ft Lauderdale FL, last week. It got a Vararam intake, FAST 78, PRC heads, TSP headers, TSP 228R cam and put down 440rwhp after tuning. So basically I have been dying to try it out.

Today coming home from work an old 5.0 was zipping through traffic behind me to catch up, he slowed down to pace and started revving. It was loud as hell so maybe it had a little work or just bad pipes but either way, a quick downshift from 6th to 3rd at 50 and a punch to the floor and it was like he slammed on brakes. I knew he punched it because it from from loud to obnoxiously loud. Thank you Lashway for putting together something pretty awesome.

Imagine how bad you would have beat him if you selected the proper gear at 50mph, 2nd.

Nice kill, the best stories are the ones where you are the sleeping giant.

I am still learning the new powerband, I was just cruising in 6th so I wasnt sure if I would redline going to 2nd or not. I do know that in 3rd I could feel the front end suspension unload when the powerband hit. That was just cool.

I got the stage 2.5, 5.3L ones milled to 62cc. They matched it with a 228R cam on a 114 +2.

on an open stretch of road today I tried the 60mph downshift into second. holy crap, at 60mph it activated the traction control. Yeah I totally should have went to 2nd instead of 3rd. The poor kid would still be crying today.
