Default Trans am vs 300zx

Ok so my friends brothers friends has a 300zx we tried to get him to race but he wouldn't go and then we tell him what I have and he starts laughing says he won't run a Pontiac. So I get mad. How well will I get him with the mods in my sig. Headers ls6 intake and 3600 stall. He said his engine was a vdbsm **** idk

Sorry last post was meant to be a text for friend but as far as the race goes unless he has some crazy turbo kit you should have no problem.

I wouldn't underestimate the car.. They can be pretty quick. There are a ton of parts out there for them.

He just got his engine rebuilt by the dealership so I'm sure it's nothing major done to it. Maybe an exhaust

If he has a stock 300zx TT its a drivers race, stock and NA you win by a landslide. With mods done to the zxTT like a boost controller, bigger injectors and other bolt ons your gonna catch hell beating him.But what ever you do DONT ROLL RACE HIM if he has the tt version automatic L for you; do it from a dig so you have a slight advantage. The ZXTT is slow off the line but has crazy top end once it has built boost.

I had a 300zx TT with a boost controler bigger injectors, exhaust and headers and tune and it was a wicked car. So just make sure he doesn't have bigger turbo's to and if he has the TT engine swapped into a N/A body or 4 seater cant remember def watch out because they had better gearing for acceleration but if its and actual TT body then like said before don't roll race and if you do a dig you'll get him off the line and until he hits 3rd then he will start to pull but either way it should be a good race.

If it's a stock 300zx tt roll or dig you will murder it. They can be built to run and can be made fairly quick but stock for stock won't run with a ls1 car period.

A 300z tt is a mid to low 14sec car a stock ls1 fbody is a mid to low 13sec car. Ls1 have great topend power. I believe the 300z tt were the slowest of the early 90 tt sports car. So let's not be stuck in the 90s.

Stock they could run high 13s and trap 101-103mph. Supra was only car that could beat one back then. As with any Turbo car little mods can pay off big time. Race him from a dig.

WRONG

One article???? LOL.

I owned all of them sans a Supra(have an earlier Supra).

My 1992 300ZX went a best of 13.66 at 103MPH at Cecil back in 1994. If you went mid 14s in one you were a terrible driver(Car and driver went 13.8s in a 90) My 1990 TT 3000GT(mine was a 300HP one-320HP ones were maybe a tenth faster but thats) went a best of 13.9 at 98MPH-weight killed it despite having same power(300HP). My 1995 RX7 twin turbo went 13.7 at 100MPH(255HP but light weight). A Supra could run mid to high 13s at about 103-105MPH(320HP). An LT1 Vette 6 speed was mid 13s at about 102-103 MPH. Most mags had the same results back then. 300ZX was fastest till Supra came out-EASILY. Modding one and working on one was a NIGHTMARE(motor had to come out for most heavy mods or repairs like timing belt). 550CC injectors were the biggest you could get for a ZX for a long time. Full exhaust could yeild almost 40RWHP(cats were very bad). Bottom end of a Z was pretty stout like a Supra

An LS1 would beat one stock to stock easy. With mods if you are unsure-race him from a dig

I want to pick one up when I have some extra cash. AWD 5 Speed... Hopefully black . Meth, more boost, exhaust, intake, and injectors, would probably hold its own. Not to mention, they are pretty attractive. Good luck with the race.

Only bad thing was the brakes(though some liked them and use them as upgrades on smaller lighter Nissans) and seats...Handle great!!

I never owned any of them except an old rx7 but had friends that had a vr 4 and a 300zx unsure of the mods this was a while back but I raced a few times in my stock 6spd ls1 at the time. The vr4 seemed faster out of the two.

They are all RWD. You are probably thinking of the Super-HICAS all-wheel-steering system.

Which is why street races aren't really good tools to use when determining which cars can do what.
