Default '99 SS vs '06 300c SRT8

SS: Bolt-ons & tune = 340rwhp 350rwtq
SRT8: 180 T-stat, intake, exhaust, & tune = 400rwhp 405rwtq

We only got 1 run due to uninvited guests. We ran from 50mph and by the top of 4th we were dead even. I'm surprised because I've beaten a SRT8 with his mods pretty easily before. He was also surprised because he always thought he would beat me. Good runs though and we might be able to do more runs some day.

In before the SRT8 haters.

Sounds like a good run. You guys didn't get in trouble by the uninvited guests, did you?

This backs up a discussion I had with *can't remember/resident srt8 guy* regarding tunes I bet. My friends car doesn't run anywhere near what he did with the same mods and the only thing that was really different was the tune. My friends car has a canned Diablo tune and I believe he was mail order.

Do you have gears? Stock shift points? Top of 4th is 134mph (T56) stock spec (just trying to get reference)

imo the race would be heavily affected by the starting speed, and 20 seems to be their strong spot

We will... You think it'll be different with him getting the win? It will be good no doubt about it.

Uninvited guests were shocked that we vanished into thin air.

Well considering the first race was almost equal so yea i think he'd get the win if you guys start at 20

i've raced my fair share of SRT8 and most of them their sweet spot is 20..

No times, but his best is either 12.7 or 12.8 @ 110mph

Yeah, we shall see. He said 50 is a sweet spot for his SRT8. We wanted to do a low roll, but there's not to many places around here where we can do that.

My buddies car was 12.8 @ 108mph with CAI/T-stat and canned tune. Not too far off..but definitely a difference in trap speeds.

Plenty of other factors to like DA and other stuff.

True but if memory serves we had near 0DA. Edit 97ft

Not much more room for improvement from that end.

1.97 60ft.

Yeah, being a manual trans a 20 roll isn't exactly bad for me

not saying that it's bad for us, it's just stronger for them imo...

here's my race with one tune only, he hung with me from 20 - 90ish and when i wind up 3 he's gone

when we raced again from 40/50 mph he barely could hang with me..

I raced a 07 SRT8 Charger from a 20 mph roll too and I pulled him once I hit 3rd, but the difference between the Charger and the 300 SRT I raced is the Charger had the Predator tune vs the 300's dyno tune.

I'd love to see videos when you run them, I believe you, just can't believe that my race with srt8 was closer than some people'd like to think

People here and on the mustang forums always underestimated the SRT8. They run hard for a big car.
