Its Stock

This is an old kill for me as it happened at the beginning of the summer, totally forgot about this happening until just now.

My car: Magnapacks, catted X, intake, manual with a driver mod and some other little things. Might have gears since I bought it from a dealer and it didn't come with a mod list.

'10 Camaro SS: "$12k" paint job, Lambo doors, mexican driver and 2 passengers, manual.

I was cruising around after I got off work and he was sitting at his parents' mexican restaurant with his lambo doors open, showing off to a bunch of kids. I rev match 3rd and 2nd to take a turn and the next thing I know, he is behind me. So I turn onto the highway and slow down to wait for him. He flashes his brights at me, moves into the left lane, and floors it. As soon as I hear it, I drop it into 3rd at about 60 and stop his pull, and gain a little then I shut off at the top of 3rd since a car was coming up. I think if I would have hit 4th I would have pulled maybe a half of a car on him since I was gaining slowly, but steadily. It shocked me since I thought he would have beat me, maybe I have a freak haha.

I'm not saying it couldn't have happened (maybe an L99 car?), but since he got the jump and you stopped his pull/started to gain... there's a good chance it was a V6. Good run either way.

Actually this comes as no surprise to me. Back when i had my 04 gt (full bolt ons, cams, gears, and tune) I raced a bone stock L99, and beat it twice...from a roll nontheless lol

Not a 6. Alot of people doubted me on the Mustang forum too, but I am not lying. I know, he should have beat me. This chick in my school has an auto one and we have this place in town we go to, to see how fast you can get your car. Her SS got 111mph, my GT got 113. I seriously think there is something done to my car and I don't know what it is.

Take it to the track, or put it on the dyno. Those are the only two ways to know for sure.

You have a place you go in town? Dude, unless you have some real work to that car its not gonna happen! No offense but before I even did my cam and tune, those stangs could not even give me a race, it was over the second I shifted 2nd gear! I am talking full exhaust, tune , intake cars, even with drag radials at the track with a 2 car jump on me I was running them down hard. Not saying the 5th gen is the god of cars here but lets get real!

He also had more weight than me... I was by myself and he had 3 people including himself. He could have been in a lower gear, alot of variables here, I am just saying it how it happened. No tracks in my town. He SHOULD have beaten me like I have already said, I think he was in a lower gear and he also had added weight.

Realistically, it's gonna take a '99-'04 GT 5spd intake/full exhaust/tune to even think about beating an L99 SS from a dig. Gears/DRs make it REAL close. Could get similar results against a less-than-perfect driver in an LS3 SS, but don't count on it. From a roll, full bolt-ons/tune/gears and still get pulled once you hit 5th gear.

Your in IL... if you feel like a road trip I am going to byron dragway this Saterday. Dont know how far you are from there, but if you really want to see what that car can do, come hang out and run that pig! The track is a good time man.

I think I'll stay here... It's a 6 hour drive one way. Plus I still need to find some Starfish wheels so I can get some DR's on there. These tires don't hook for ****. I spin through 2nd.

Yeah pretty sure he was in the wrong gear, oh well. Anything can happen on the street but I know that car would beat me.
