Default 13' 5.0 vs bmw with twist ending

so im driving to work in the stang and after getting off the exit ramp from the highway i see this silver bmw 135i weaving through traffic pretty ricer-ish. could hear his fart cannon exhaust too. next light hes only a car or two ahead and i see a sticker that says "psi" on his rear window and i hear him get on it as the light turns green and hear the turbo. so i follow and finally traffic breaks loose ahead of us, he nails it first without giving me the chance to come alongside. didnt matter, i downshifted and right away started reeling him in. as i was passing him i gave a douchebag wave as i now went by him at sort of an embarassing rate. after we shut it down he was 6 or more lengths behind and stayed there. heres the funny part, the next day i see him and after rolling through the main gate at NAS jax ( im active navy) i see him roll by next to me. he rolls his window down and it turns out hes my former LPO (LPO means leading petty officer, basically he used to be my boss) thought it was kinda funny. we chatted and he said he was glad it turned out to be me. anyways thats my story for the day.

Nice lol that's ironic. With basic mods/tune those cars move out.

Yea, you have to be careful. And he had a fart cannon? I've never seen a single fart cannon exhaust on a BMW after 2001.

Thats a pretty wild statement, it would be hard for to believe he had a fat can exhaust. With just a tune and some minor bolt ons they are very quick. Id watch out if he starts to mod.

No it wasn't a fat cannon but it was some sort of afternarket as it had the same tone they produce. I have no idea what's done to his car but yea, he took off and I chased and ran him down. I know little of BMW's but was sure I was going to take it down regardless as I assumed the 135's were a base model BMW. Idk either way still got him. He probably doesn't have all that much I know him he's more of a ford guy, he used to have a termi and now is saving for a Shelby.

Agree... but stock they're only good for low 13s @ 104-107. A tune does wonders... they'll run close to 12 flat with a good tune and traction.

And a 5.0 is good for mid 12s at 108-111.

Giving up the hit and pulling 6 cars is no joke. Not calling BS because all kinds of stuff happens on the street, but damn, not a very good representation of a 135i.

the year may have something to do with it. i dont know what year his was but it wasnt a brand new one from this year or last. idk if there was any motor differences in the past 5-6 years.

In 2011 BMW introduced the N55 engine which was a single twin scroll turbocharger for the 135/335/535 engine. It makes less power than the 07-10N54 engine. Even with full bolt ons the N54 is still a faster car, not by much but there's a difference. They are still 12's capable with a tune only.

I'd guess 10 or so rwhp stock. With bolt ons it grows even more.

I ran my 98 ss with cat back exhaust against a new 135I, all 3 runs were neck and neck. Got to respect the 135i!

Ask him what he has done. I'm guessing not much. No fart cannons I know of that were made for the 135i.
