Cool H/C/Secret Silverado SS vs Ls1 z28

After work I decided to stop by the local hang out spot and BS. The usual was out, '10 Sierra 408, '00 z28 3k stall unknown cam, h/c silverado ss. My car has a lid, cutout, free ram air, increased shift firmness, and nto5s. I've ran at the track once and the best I could get was a 9.05, pretty upsetting. I've beat everyone before except for the camaro, rolls and digs by lengths.

So we get to talking and everyone was telling me the silverado had done a little something here recently but wouldn't budge when I asked what it was. I get talked into running a dig and we all head out to a good spot.

We line up and I honk it off, I immediately smoke the tires and watch him leave perfectly and gain buses on me. I've never spun so much in my life. If that wasn't bad enough the 3.5 sable chase car does a ricer flyby on me! We head back to our spot and I hang my head but it was obvious traction was my issue. We bs for a bit then head back out.. This time I think what the hell, do a slight burnout and line up. I honk it again and off we go, I feathered it out of the hole and punched it at about 30. Slight spin, at this point we are DEAD even, car shifts into 3rd right around 90 and I jump out about half a car then begin my walk. Shut down about 120.

Before I can get out of the car everyone is at my door accusing me of having more mods. Turns out, his silverado ran a 8.34 on a 150 shot that past weekend. He sprayed both runs against me. That spray woke it up.. I use to walk it like it was sitting still.

Can't wait to get to the track and get some better launches! Sorry for the novel guys.

Hey that's my vette! Jk I'll help you out haha

I hate when people try to hide their mods from you. I was almost tricked into racing an S4 that was "stock." Found out it had 400+ awhp later. I'm glad you put him in his place though, I bet he was expecting to win. What's your hp? You have any 1/4 times?

Nothing against you or your car but I was like wtf lol.

Yeah everyone expected him to win, including me. I was confused afterwards when he said he sprayed 150 and he ran a 8.34. Everyone started accusing me of having a bottle or something. Ive never been on the dyno or to a 1/4. I'm starting to think the orignal owner did something to it and didn't tell me lol.. Tuned or something.

Was a g8 that was around and put a whoopin on everyone a while back.. Silverado put cars on it I heard. May be my next run I hope

You would hate me then lol. CAN'T wait to get out of this car and get my "real" car or whatever you want to call it. I've thought about the S4 as my buddy has one. 500awhp is easy, after that though, you're looking at big $$$$$. I'd do a Tial 770 build and watch as I walk liter bikes

wow the trucks you were racing were slow. I ran 8.5's in the 1/8th in my old ecsb silverado 4x4 cam only with stall 5.3l.

The Sierra runs 9.6s at the track. I watched it beat a dodge 5.9 with 49lbs boost and a 200 shot lose by a car from a 40 roll. Dodge ran 7.90s.

Good kill/loss! I love racing unknown cars where they won't tell you the mods, I just don't like when people lie about what they have.

What mods on your z28?
I'm sure you've got a weight advantage and maybe a higher trap?

Either way, good kill. Always good to confuse people when you have less then what they think.

Thanks. I've added lid and free ram air, car had slp maf and cutout when I bought it. Also increased the shift firmness. Removed spare and jack. As far as the weight, I had a huge advantage. I had no idea he was spraying until after I beat him.. He said he only told me because I won. lol
