Trans am vs. full bolt on Mach 1
Just messing around with a buddie a week or so ago in his Mach 1 full bolt ons, intake, tb, full exhaust, idk what else cause I don't know mustangs. My car is an 00 ws6 m6 with just an ls6 intake, lt, de screened maf, and flowmaster catback.Back to the racing, last week I only beat him by a nose from a 40 and half a fender from a 30. Felt like the car fell on its face shifting into 4th. So I decided to try something. I got a stock maf with screen and challenged him again. This time the results were much better. From a 30 got him by a car and a 40 by bout half a car. figured I'd share. Not saying you should re screen your maf if it is but I def saw a difference.

the guys in the mach 1 must have only been shifting at 9500 rpm. unless he does still have the factory dual zone climate control exhaust and a corn canned tune. then 9500 is about right.

Pretty much every bolt on.
Long tubes
Catless x
Slp cb
Pnp bbk tb
Cut and rewelded intake
Bigger maf
Jlt cold air
4.10s
31 or 33 spline axles
Cobra cams
Aluminum ds
Short throw
That's off the top of my head

Ive never seen good results with anything but the stock MAF. And the car most likely needed a tune after swapping the maf. Its a key sensor... cant change it without scaling the maf in the tune. I say leave the stock maf. My gto always ran the stock MAF even with the h/c setup.
And Good kill op. Sounds like you have a healthy one

Swapping those cams is like going from an 806 ls head to a 241 ls head... you might see 2-3hp.

He originally had "the biggest cam comp offers" in it and the installer messed something up and a cam gear broke off. So then he decided to sell those and go the route that was posted. And thanks guys. This is my first ls1 car and love it. Feel like it runs very well with the little I have done. Next thing is to can the flowmaster lol
