99 Z28 vs WRX
Had a quick little highway run with a WRX (mid-2000's maybe). Was on the highway and saw it turn onto the road so I slowed up a bit to let him catch up. Caught up to a semi so I got up to 70 mph as I passed it and got in the right lane as it was clear ahead. WRX was going well over 70 as he closed in quick, just as he got next to me he took off.
I'm not sure what my "sweet spot" is, but it sure the hell isn't a 70 roll, but I haven't had a run in forever so I was game. Between the higher speed he was already at and taking the hit, I was a car behind by the time I got moving. Stopped his pull and drove on by and put almost 2 cars on him by 120 and I shut it down. He did the whole flyby thing and I slowed down to cruise at 80 but he never slowed down to try again. Nothing exciting but my first run in forever.
My car just has the normal bolt-on's, Yank 4000, 3.73 gears, full weight. Dips into the 11's and traps around 112-113.
Anybody know what the "sweet spot" is for a stalled A4 with 3.73's on the highway is?

Good kill, but being a previous WS6 owner and now being a wrx owner, there is no way you should lose to a wrx unless it makes north of 375 whp AND it's from a dig. They fall off so much. Anyone who buys a wrx because they think it's fast is dumb, terrible platform, but good kill nonetheless!!!

Don't know enough about then to tell if it was an STI and don't get a good enough look anyway. I really wanted to catch him at a light and go from a dig but never happened.

There isn't really anyway to tell if it was an STI from the outside. Since the sedan trunks are all interchangable from 02-07 lot's of guys either take the wing off or put the wing on, and so forth.

STI's have a much bigger rear wing and hood scoop. If the hood scoop looks big enough to fit a full sized cleanex box through it, it's a STI hood. If it looks like only one of those small half sized kleenex boxes would fit into it then it's a WRX. Either way those kleenex's will get used after you blow there doors off.

I didn't want to bring it up because I'm kind of embarrassed, but as this race was taking place we were both passed by a black turbo Regal GS. On the shoulder. In reverse.
