Unless it has massive weight reduction or something you should smoke it IMO. I came from the Mustang world, so i'm pretty familiar with these cars lol

There is a bench racing section for a reason, use it.

That being said, you shouldn't have a problem pulling him easily. Make sure to get vids!

If you can't beat that set up, you have no business racing anyone! Seriously, that "build" isn't much of a build, aside from not knowing about the suspension, which can make massive improvements with a FOX platform.

As a owner of one you should kill him.

I can't believe anyone would wasted their time running that crap(GT40P) on their 302

Best combo on the Corral though

I can. Its cheap. lol Besides a few run pretty decent with that combo, a little shot and you can be fairly quick. Of course there's way better stuff out there.

My friend had a 85 T/A that had a cam only 305, I out ran pretty bad with my cam only 302 in my 84 GT, that he decided that he wanted to try against my girlfriends bone stock 89 LX 5.0. With her driving and me in the passenger seat telling her when to shift, she out ran him by more than a car length.

Good kill. He didn't have you. He didn't have his car!

But seriously... go run him. Daytime vid and come back. Why not?

Thats what all the trash local 302s run, gt40 crap and an alphabet cam with spray, on motor ive seen bolt on swaped hondas drag em. They're basically **** setups to run with some sort of power adder, cause on motor they don't move worth ****.

An I-ROC vs a 5L coupe... That's about fair, except the I-ROC typically sold for more than $4,000 above a GT, which was more expensive than the coupe. Point being, you'd have to pay to get a 305powered Chevy to run with that old horse.

What the??? 'Bolt on swapped Hondas?' I would HOPE a tiny car with an EXTREME weight advantage would have a chance against a nearly stock, 20+yr old beater with a moderate, at best, power plant.

Seriously though, that setup can help bring the old sled into the low 13's. It's seriously inexpensive, and I wouldn't bother doing it today unless someone had a specific reason. That's for the obvious fact that so many better parts are also cheap and available. Still, to compare it to some ABSOLUTE trash box with an engine swap(and almost never an N/A build)... Not exactly a real comparison of like vehicles.

What are you talking about? Stock k-series, ITR, H2B, or straight Hseries swap is more than enough to outrun a gt40p alphabet cam mustang. You really think a honda needs a turbo to trap over 100mph? Like i said gt40p crap **** box 5.0's are shitty slow down here and most N/A hondas put em to shame with bolt ons.

Bolt on k-series low roll vs a bolt on alphabet cam and possibly gt40p ****.

Race aside, that's a real bummer about the car.

You totally misunderstood my point. It's not a similar thing when talking about a 2400 lb pile of **** with an engine designed for an entirely different car dropped AND ALWAYS modified vs a simple Ford parts bin "build" using parts available for 20yrs already. The ricer has the advantage FROM A ROLL and almost always has its *** handed to it from a dig.

Realistically, those parts should get the Mustang into the mid-13's, similar to the Honda Civic with a Prelude engine because, except for the more recent Si factory stuff, those cars are actually quite slow, even when compared against a factory stock 1990 5L Mustang. Take the same Mustang and drop a 351W with aluminum heads from something like the 1995 Cobra R and the race seems more realistic. Add several modifications as is typical of the ricer crowd with their swap and suddenly you have a mid 11 second car against a mid 13 car... Would that still sound like a fair comparison?

PS the video you showed makes my point. The entire **** box is gutted. Like most, an absolute under-achiever. If all that was also done to the Mustang, the Honda crowd would complain. Oh, and Merry Christmas!
