Default Fun runs cost 5k on 2013 5.0(pre run vid)

So today me and some friends met up.

My car-2012 auto, paxton stall, off road x pipe etc etc


2013 5.0 with Paxton, manual car, 3.73's, basically same set up as me, but he has Kmember, 3.73 gears and a manual.

2009 G8 H/C/Maggie 5.5lbs 520whp

2012 GT500 TVS swap, 3.73's eSame car I ran before(never got any runs)

Well G8 and 2013 lined up. Honk it off and they are gone. Me and GT500 owner was in my car following. G8 jumped about a car or so out but the stang realed him in and passed him. Putting about 2-3 car on him before they shut down. I nailed it and walked passed G8 when all sudden my car started acting crazy. BUt slowed down and it seemed fine.

SO me and 13 5.0 line up. He honks it off and i jump out a car of so and start pulling and then my car seems like it falls on face and he missed 4th. So try again both us have same issue.

I pull off highway on a exit and rev in neutral and my car hangs at 5000 RPMS. Dude riding with me is like what hell, down on power then this. I shut it off and it didn't start first 2 times. Then it does and is running weird. We all pull in gas station. 13 5.0 is having issues getting it into 3rd and 4th gear. I pop my hood and notice a cap came off my Boss intake and is cause unmeasured air. Found the issues. SO we get a piece of hose and rig it up with catch can. EVery thing seems good. 13 5.0 lets cool off still issue going in 4th.

Now on way back to my house me and G8 do a fun pull. I spin city from 30 and walk away but its sideways whole time. He gets sideways and almost bites a gaurd rail. We pull in and think thats close. Get to my house and my car is smoking like crazy. 13 5.0 still no 4th. His tranny is done.

So we looking at my car trying figure out why smoking. We think crap head gasket went. I pull oil dipstick and a bunch pressure comes out. Put back in an still smoking. WTF. Pull dipstick same think. We then notice hose crimped. Causeing no release of pressure from heads to catch can. Crap. Fix that and fire up. shut off. No pressure and its stopping smoking. Fire up let run no smoke no pressure seems good.

They all leave after our issues and realizing the Vids didn't get captured cause the G8 owner didn't get GpPro turned on. CRAP!

I take car back put do some pulls, test runs. All seems good. Sent some logs to tuner to make sure all looks good. He dodn't see nothing bad.

All my worries are gone.

BUT 13 5.0 tranny is gone. He just ordered a TREMEC updrage that cost 5K.

SO todays racing cost us 5k. FTW!

Doesn't he have a warrenty? And when did you go back to using a clutch?

If y ou took your new car added a SC, Exhuast, Kmember, suspension think you would have a warranty.

and I have no clutch. I have an auto. I put my car in neutral as I was rolling.

Then the 2013 is his.

Mine is a 2012.I made it more clear.

nice runs, and at least everyone drove home what they drove out there! I've had that kinda thing happen before where you daily drive your car, beating on it like it's supposed to be, yet when it's race time something odd always comes up. Usually a result of being WOT for alot longer then you are when just screwing around.

i learned a few things about racing , seems like if 1 of ur buddies has something go wrong its best to just go to the house or sit back and watch , seems as if 1 car ***** up they start droppin like flies lol. hate to hear that man. hope everything turns out good.

Very lucky you didnt pop the motor with all that crankcase pressure!

That was our thoughts also. Some one was looking down on me. I took car back out dig some logs, tuner said every thing looks good.






Now is when its going to let go going to get something stupid from the store.

That was me and GT500 owners original thought. I should have kept it.

I was hoping that Ford would of come up with a fix for those transmissions by now.

with the exception of the fifth gear synchro.... mine hasnt been that bad. Im changing to a mcleod rxt when i fix it and just not power shifting anymore. Hopefully that gets some life out of it

Did you check the front and rear covers for leaks?

Same thing happened to me. Pressure plate died in the Caddi going to pick up diapers for my daughter... Nevermind the night before running like it was stolen...lol

Had this happen two fridays ago... Buddys GT500 lines up with Vette and run from 3rd gear. GT500 blows fuse and cuts off, while we install new fuse in the GT500 the battery dies in the Vette. Get that started and going to meet spot procharged 07 GT runs 2013 5.0 and blows the same fuse the GT500 did. Vette dies again...lol. It should have been a Call of Duty night and stayed home...lol

Ya checked everything. Going to do a compression drop down test to double check again.
