should i race him?
Some douche in the parking lot today was puffing up his chest about his new to him 2010 gt500. Its pretty much stock, has a catback amd a canned tune. Ive got a 2000 ss with a full boltons, a decent sized pat g cam, and a 150 shot. Car is full weight minus ac, swaybar, and the back seats are out.
I was pretty sure id drag him pretty bad but ive never ran one before. My car made 400/380 off the bottle, hoping its around 550/600 on spray but it hasnt been dynoed or taken to the track with the current setup.
What do you think?

This. Off the bottle you should be pretty close. on the bottle no contest whatsoever. unless he is pullied.

depends if hes done basic GT500 boltons, which pretty much yield 120-150 hp gains. If hes pullied top and lower, it could be a good race. a typical bolt on gt500 should be putting down 650+

We didnt talk money tonight but im sure pretty sure he wants to put something on it. Ive got 555 drags on the rear right now but its hit or miss trying to get it to hook on the street. I figure its probably a high 11 low 12 car if hes a good driver. On the bottle i figure ill hurt his ego pretty quick even if i cant hook...just havent ran one and dont know a lot about them, suppoaed to be 500 or 550 hp 3800 lbs er so?

Ran one on the freeway twice once before the longtubes and once after .Have a small cam and afr 205's .I beat him the first time and the second time (h / c / full exhaust ) it was murder from a 70 roll .You will destroy him on the spray ! Do it and get it on film !

Looks like a stock pulley, cai, factory manifolds. Idk what a cai, catback and a tune will yield hp wise but i dont think it could be that much.
Car is an m6 with a fresh 10 bolt and 3:42s built a little and braced.
My car has never trapped really high for a cammed ls1 but ive never ran it in good air or at a good track. Ive outrun a bolt on ls2 vette off the bottle and a cpl bolt on tuned 5.0s and ive ran a 347 cobra with a d1sc and it was pretty close every run.
Ill try and rig up a go pro mount here in the next cpl days and get some runs on video
