Default 05 GTO vs G8 GT

Here is a race with two cars on street tires. The G8 has some suspension work that is not listed. Mods are listed in the video.

So basically similar mods on both cars, but one has some suspension work. Looks like it really paid off lol

Yeah, the G8 automatic trans and suspension work helped a lot against the 6-speed GTO. Maybe a driver mod could help the GTO a little but the G8 really hooks well in spite of the of the GTO lighter weight. JB's G8 is getting M/T this month if I remember right.

Yeah I think the GTO should have been reeling him back in pretty easily. It weighs 400 lbs less and makes more power. Good runs though.

Both cars were tuned by the same shop, so I think a driver mod or better tire would have put the GTO back in the race. When I was 375 rwhp with K&N Intake, Headers, catback, and tune; I had to make up nearly half a car from the hole and we were bumper to bumper. The outcome of that race is still contested to this day due to the race being stop prematurely.

I just hit the dude up how has the G8. Here is the suspension list.
BMR trailing arms, toe rods, upper control arm bushings. Also, he has some lower control arms in the mail!

Nice. I've got a BMR antiwheelhop kit for the V that reduced the wheel hop issues off the line pretty good for me, along with a few other bushings and a differential block. Need to ****** up the remainder from revshift most likely soon, but people forget how big of a help that suspension can be off the line and in the corners.

Thats definitely a nice setup on the G8. Looks like its working just fine, mod for mod with what I'm pretty sure is about equal power.

Then again, GTO could probably use a driver mod as well.
