760WHP GT500 vs 570WHP C6 Z06
Drama between these two specific cars started about 18 months ago. Back then Shelby was 600WHP and Z was 440whp(stock). Z06 would pull the Shelby and war started lol
Shelby went up to a Whipple S/c and other goodies and cranked out 760whp and 690tq. At this point Shelby roamed the plains as the king lol
Fast forward to June of this year, the said Z06 dint like being stock anymore.
Slapped on a cam(238/255, decent size), WCCH stage 2 heads, Fast 102 Intake manifold, 102MM NW throttle body and pfadt headers and put down 570whp.
Street tires quickly became useless. To solve that issue some ET Street IIs were slapped on.
This is Z06's very first run with new mods and new tires. No practice at all, nothing...to make things complicated the tires spun on the wheels(freshly powdercoated wheels and too much lube used during mounting).
First two runs were from 40 which would be a sweet spot to go into first gear but not knowing how the car would react or if it would hook Z stayed in second.
Onto the runs now
1st run, 40 roll in second gear fairly even till 130ish and Z started to pull but car in front change lane over so had to shut that down.
2nd run as soon as Z was to pull on top end Shelby stopped around 140ish..when asked why many excuses were made(all previous run would stretch into 160ish).
Back to our parking spot where we all chill, videos were shown to rest of our friends(roughly 30 ppl) and it was decided it was a tie.
To break the tie a lower speed roll was agreed upon.
3rd run Z06 hooked in first and you can see the outcome. One more pull was made from same 30 roll with same outcome. This was really from 30 to 130ish as Z just kept pulling.
