Default upcoming race...bolt on 5.0 vs heads/cam C5Z.

My buddies heads cam C5Z makes 453/406. Yes he can drive. We are gonna do. 45-50-135 very soon. There will be a go pro video with hopefully a passenger with camera in each car.

My car is a '13 5.0 M6 it makes 434/391 and it has 355 gears. Lets hear your guys thoughts.

i make 468 and have put work on every 5.0 i have raced, at least 10 of them including alot of friends with 5.0s all full bolt ons , your going to have trouble with the light weight and gearing of the vette in a roll race , you should do better in the dig run

I never thought the ls6 z was very fast stock. Seemed slow to me. Maybe they were abused by there owners. I did like the ls3 vette though.

When I was stone bone stock with a 75 dry shot, I ran a "bolt on" 5.0. Guy was very confident. He kept circling me talking trash in his car. He wanted a free/fun run. I don't do those. Finally after being pressured by friends, he agreed to some coin.
It wasn't even competitive. I could have took him without the gas. MY car ran pretty consistent 12.0's and a couple 11.90's stock with DR's. But, if he has shifting issues, which a lot do, you might take him. Bad shifting plagues these cars.

id put money all day on at least two or three cars , ill explain

at 45-50mph the vette is at about 4500 rpm in second , its the sweet spot of the c5 z , closer ratio gearing in the mn12 gives a violent jump then fourth tops out at 140 and is imo the strongest gear in the car

if i was the 5.0 id ask for a 60 roll that puts the vette at 3500 in third and too high to use second without spinning and or losing it

High roll with a lighter weight, more aerodynamic, higher hp Vette = three to four car loss. Post the vid though.

Who said anything about a slush box? I said the ls3 was a 6spd instead of the A6. Would be nice to see how a ls6 would run with a auto though.
