Default Vortech 5.0 Foxbody vs 2001 Z06

Foxbody on 12lbs of boost and weight of 2900lbs and had no passenger. Z06 has mods in sig and had a passenger. 30 roll and didn't race all that long. He is a 1/4 mile guy. I think I would have started pulling him up top pretty good. I had to start in second because of traction issues so slow start for me.

Good run. You would have pulled him more if he kept going.

I beleive its just a stockish 5.0. All he reall said was it had a vortech on 12lbs. Kinda surprised me though i've never really seen foxbody's run that strong. I guess i should have expected it tho one 12lbs of boost he is prob making god powet and its very light. We went from a launch the first time and of course he stomped me with him having a drag setup and me on street tires. My next mod will be dr's and i'll probably start peicing all the stuff together to do a cam swap.

good run....1st gear at that speed with traction and it would look pretty bad for him. That little bit of momentum would've built threw the gears.

Yea I was pretty pissed for not having drag radials. Now I'm looking at them and they are F'ing exspensive for 18's! Anybody know what the cheapes dr for an 18" wheel is?

Good run. Without the passenger you would have pulled him sooner, thats a strong running fox tho.

12pounds of boost and that's all it could muster against a light bolt on ls6? Well done op!

What does your car make for power? Any track time? I'm interested in how much power you picked up with the FAST setup on stock motor if you know.

A ported fast setup is worth 10-15whp over the LS6 setup. But you can always port the ls6 intake to scrap a few extra ponies out of it. When do you want to come dyno out my way?

I went from a ported ls6 to a ported fast 90 and picked up 13rwhp @ peak.....more than that in places with tuning. I changed them on the dyno. So it was a back to back. Seat of the pants was a pretty good change to.

If you have a stock ls6 intake I could easily see picking up 15+ by changing to a ported fast.

Do you still have your dyno sheet? Just asking because I hear of these 15whp+ gains on stock or bolt-on cars but can never find any factual data or before and aft dyno results

If that Foxbody only has 12 lbs and exhaust on a rather stock motor, I think that's a pretty good running 5.0. Them stock 5.0 E7 heads seriously only flow around 155cfm on the intake and 105cfm on the exhaust @.500" lift and pretty much die out there. They are all kinds of pathetic on a hardcore level.

Soon as your car is back on the road. I'll race you and whoever else and get my car on the dyno all in the same day if possible.
