Default Pullied 2004 cobra vs 1991 Firebird LQ4

Hey guys. Finally got a run worth talking about last night in my Firebird. I've talked to the dude before and he's real cool. No BS or lying about mods. This was just a straight up no drama race. Real clean 2004 Torch red Cobra.

"TORCHD" 2004 Cobra

"QuickShift" 1991 Pontiac Firebird

Firebird specs:
-LQ4 6.0
-PRC LS6 heads
-Tick Torquemax cam
-6-speed
-435whp/397wtq

Cobra specs:
-Stock Blower
-BF 2.76 Upper
-Accufab sbtb/plenum
-JLT RAI Gen 1
-Mac Longtubes
-Lethal O/RX
-SLP LM2 Catback
-Pro 5.0
-Put down 467whp/472wtq before the longtubes were added.

My Firebird is still a tank @ 3400lbs. Hoping to lighten it up a bit in the coming weeks and get a rematch. I'm thinking 100lbs will make the difference I need

Good race seemed damn close. I had the same race last night with my buddies sonic blue cobra, him having a pulley, intake, exhaust, not tuned tho and it was the same outcome him by maybe a bumper. If you ever wanna get a few runs in just shoot me a pm.

Pretty tight race actually! I'm actually racing my buddy's ported/pullied 03 Cobra today (i'll post the vid on here later) and have a similar build as the Firebird above. Our weights will be very similar as I gained a 100 lbs with the iron block, and he dropped a 100 lbs with the solid rear axle swap. What kind of compression does that bird have? So the Cobra is still about 200 lbs heavier than you at this point right?

Great race... those cobras are hit or miss. And the "whp" is so random, you can never go by that. Ive seen "500whp" cobras lose to "470whp" cobras in good fashion. This seemed to be a stronger one. Did he have a passenger? If not that could be the sole difference in the runs. Once my car is back together, I want to come out and get some runs. Its been 2-3 months since Ive had a solid race. I'm itching (crack head motions) lol.

I was thinking the same thing. Im not a huge fan of the 03/04 cobra. I like them, but they arent in my top 10 for affordable fast cars lol. However the one in that picture is flipping gorgeous. And both Scott and RJ have the cleanest third gens Ive ever seen.

The bird is 10.5:1. I could have gotten away with a little more, but wanted to stay clear of any PTV issues. Not sure of the exact weight on the cobra, but yes probably about 200lbs give or take.

Soon I hope. Probably going to be throwing some seats in soon to get rid of the full power leathers (regretfully lol) but sometimes you have to sacrifice a little. Then the Fast manifold/TB combo will be next. By the end of this season for sure.

Sweet looking cars and that was a nice run.
Cobra sounded bad ***!

Definitely post up the rematch after your weight reduction.

That was a great run! I figured it was going to be close before hand but not that close lol. Always love setting up a no BS race.
