Default 96 WS6 vs 98 WS6 vert

I just sold my 00 ws6 m6 and had to get my 96 road worthy. After chasing several gremlins I had my wife follow me for a test drive. As soon as I started driving I knew it was good so we went down a side street and I said let's see who's is faster. Mine is a 96 WS6 cam, LTs, and 3" exhaust lt1 swapped m6 with 323s. Hers is a stock perfect running 98 WS6 A4 convertible. We got to 20 and both nailed it. I broke loose and feathered it out and she pulled ahead. I pulled her right back in and got a hood in front when her Ls1 hit its sweet spot. We were about even with me holding my hood lead til I hit 4th and I started to pull away. I know I shouldn't brag about beating my wife (in a race) but it was a good clean race and she does have an LS1.

I love T/As in general but especially 71-73 and the 96-97 WS6. My wife drove my 96 while it had the 4l80e and loved it. She wanted one and I saw a guy in the 98 and waved him over. He said he'd sell it and he actually called me so we got it. The guy I sold the 00 to said he'd race me when I got the 96 right. It's right and ready. I'll post if it happens. He only lives 1/2 mile away so we'll bump into each other soon.

That would be pretty sad driving skills if he's making 400hp and barely beating stock A4 LS1 verts.
