Default Stalled Z28 vs Mach 1 Dig

Ran into a bolt on mach last night while heading out to eat. i was with my girlfriend and he had no passenger. as we slowed down to the light he asked what i had done and i told him bolt ons and gears and he laughed and said he was "fully bolted with longtubes" haha. Long story short i pulled him probably 3 cars to about 80. then we ran from a 35 which is probably my weakest point and i pulled maybe 2 cars to 80. The best part was when we pulled up to the next light he said "why is it that every camaro i run into kicks my ******* ***".

I have a question too. I just got the car retuned after the 3800 stall and ported tb and i went from 333rwhp 345rwtq to 312rwhp 306rwtq.. This seems like a pretty drastic drop in power. i know stalls eat power but i didnt expect that much. Im not big on dyno numbers anyway but even the tuner was surprised. Every dyno pull a huge puff of greyish/white smoke came out of the exhaust when he let off at 6200rpm. We dont know if this has something to do with it but its definitely not normal. Any ideas?? Compression test maybe? I had the valve cover gaskets changed 2 weeks ago so maybe its something to do with plugs and wires? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Seems about right for the stall. White smoke would be signs of a head gasket leaking coolant into the combustion chamber. I would do a leak down test on it to figure it out. BTW, good kill!

Good un.

Your TQ numbers went the wrong direction with that stall. It should've pushed your TQ numbers past your HP. Every stalled car I've ever owned has one that anyway.

Thanks guys. We'll look into the head gaskets this weekend. i agree its pretty shitty knowing i lost just about 40rwtq. It really doesn't seem right. The car definitely pulls harder then before the stall and tb but those numbers are in the back of my head everyday haha. Yeah it was the same dyno but 85 degrees with 45% humidity vs like 20% 73 degrees the first time. The torque curve looks a lot better with the stall

On decel at high RPM's sounds like valve guides to me, if it was your head gasket it would be constantly smoke. GL and nice kill.

Machs are 4 valve, DOHC engines with a nice cam that gives them more low end TQ than the 01 Cobras with basically the same engine. They make about 40-50 more HP than the 2 valve, SOHC GT, and the Machs rev AND breathe all the way up to 6800 RPMs. 3.55 gears vs 3.27s, better brakes, better suspension...the Mach is what the GT should've been IMO. Arguably a drivers race stock for stock against am ls1 z28.....arguably, lol

Op, mine lets a plume of grayish smoke go at 6200-6800 rpm on decel too. I think it's just blow by. Don't sweat it, just keep tabs on it.

yeah instead of coming oot with the PI 2v, the gt shoulda got the 4v. then maybe the last couple years of Camaro woulda got an ls6 which would have been killer.
