the ratings are weird. my 2011 6.2 isn't rated as good as my 2009 5.3 was, but is consistently better on fuel.

Run one with a good tune and see how you do. The edge tunes are absolute junk, but hey if you're proud winning a foot race against an amputee then good for you. No need to run an actual stout tuned ecoboost right?

Hammer, I don't see how that's the case. Your 5.3 must have never been in V4 mode to take advantage of the AFM. My '09 would get 15.5/23-23 weekly. My '07 would do 15.5/21, but it had 3.73's. My '09 had 3.42's.

Willi, a little extreme there. Foot race with an amputee? Dang man, it's like he insulted your mother! Do take into account it was the long bed version, so that added weight, and the F150's I believe are already heavier than the '13 and older silverado's like for like is a little advantage for the 6.2. Regardless, the 6.2 won, but I'd agree, the tune from Livernois would be better for the Ecoboost.

Hammer, is it time to race magic?

Stock to stock, the Ecoboost blows its door off. If both are tuned, the Ecoboost would blow its doors off. Now add a blower, and it'd be a race that I'd favor the 5.0 in. Other wise, Ecoboost all the way.

my 09 5.3 6 speed never went into v4 mode on the highway unless it was down hill. it really never made a difference for me. it usually got around 20-22 mpg (cdn). my 04 RCSB 5.3 got 20 max. the 6.2 gets 21-23 on the hw constantly. I know 2 other guys with 6.2's that get the same results.

magic is horseshit. plus I probably wont have this truck once the new 6.2's are plentiful!

Good run. I see a lot of improvement needed on the shifts of your truck. Looks like it starts to creep back at the top of each gear and falls back on the shifts. Could be tweeked in the tune but you made need a small converter to help it along. I vote dyno tune and 2800-3000 converter.

Throw an electric supercharger on it, and it's over. Install spool.

the shifting and rev limiter need improvement, plus it still has all of it's torque management in place yet. so I don't even get full throttle off the line yet.

I raised the rev limiter as high as the hypertech would allow, around 6300? but it's not high enough. plus it would only let me set my shift points to 5600-5700 so I still have to hold my gears manually which is hard to do with these impossible to time paddle shifters. I like to shift it between 6-6100 rpm. in the vid where you see me reeling him in around 14-15 seconds, fall back, then start pulling again I actually grazed the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift.
