race a base model 5.0 with a driver....You will want some mods afterwards.

This is the same mentality as when a guy with a 11X mph car thinks he can beat 600cc bikes... because he beat a couple terrible riders. Bottom line. Driver for driver/car for car... the 5.0 is 3-4mph faster which makes for a decent pull. And if youre "smoking" 5.0s with those mods...yea...

Because ls1 owners were mostly retarded so we brought our friends who actually know **** about cars over.

Evan what's a stock 5.0 hit realistically? 111-112 on the fast side? (Just curious/confirming)

I think I agree with the last post
Im new here.
What's with all these Mustangs?
Getting sick of loosing cause your cars can't hang.
Man I so wish my pops Haden't totaled his c-10
Before he passed
13.36 @106.35 before he threw on the 2.02's and the solid cam and 750 double pumper.
Talking an old school 350, with Muncie 4 speed
Aluminum flywheel and 3:73 posi
But I would expect the same if I were to put a
C-10 together with a 6.0 rather than a Trans Am
And I had him convinced on buying a tremac 5 speed may hav helped a little as well

I never had the pleasure of running a new 5.0 with that combo
However after the combo was completed
Before the heads an cam never beat a SC 4.6 cobra
Afterwards was gettin them buy a solid 4 or 5 lengths
I would suspect I would have been able to handle the new 5.0s
But I never ran a quarter mile after the top end rebuild neither did he before he passed

3450 was with me in it at the track this last weekend. It was estimation at that point. I estimated 3375-3400lbs but i guess my scale i was using to weigh parts isnt as accurate as it used to be. Between me and the extra gear in the car... the car comes in at 3265. Still almost 200lbs lighter then the C7 . However my buddy who goes racing every weekend said his car scaled in 50lbs heavier then normal. If thats true... then im right at 3400lbs with me in it. Either way. Im just reporting what i read on the meter.

Correct. Should drop another 20lbs going to slicks, 75lbs in brakes, and 15 in front coil overs. After that ill be scrapping for weight. Probably leave it alone at that point. I just pulled 8lbs out of my rear end going from a torsen diff to a cobra posi... but ill be adding about 4lbs back going from the motive 3.90s to oem ford 3.73s.

Oh ok gotcha 3265 is still pretty light. Why the gear change?

Bad as in a problem with them physically or just bad for yours setup/rpm? (just wasn't 100% on what you meant)... I like my 3.42s... I could use more gear but I'm not sure I want to get crazy with it. I can hit 152 in 4th and 5th goes to 205.. so I'm guessing I could get pretty aggressive and not really lose out.

video speaks for itself. As far as gearing is concerned. Im going to the 3.73s for the ability to run a 26.5 inch stiffwall slick. 3.73s will run it a bit better at the track. Might gain a mph out of them.
