Default Terminator swapped 96 cobra vs maggie gto

Finally got a few runs in with a buddy this past weekend.
Hes got a 96 mystic cobra with a complete terminator swap, engine, trans, everything. Pretty sure its all stock minus the exhaust.
My car is an 05 Gto, stock engine, Maggie 122, and a baby stalled auto, weighs about the same as a small moon. Ive been having some belt slip issues, only sees about 4 psi as it sits.

We made three runs
1st race was from a 50 roll, and I pulled a couple lengths.

2nd race was from a 35, my car didn't downshift and started pulling in 2nd, took a bit longer to come around him but once its started pulling I came around him pretty quick

3rd race he honked it off, I thought I jumped a bit early but the video seems like it was close. I pulled a few lengths really fast and shut it down.

His wife videoed all three runs, not the best quality but better than a potato
Ill post it up when she uploads them to youtube.

Nice. I always figured those Terminator swapped SN95s would run good. They are stick axle and weigh a few hundred pounds less than an 03 Cobra. Tell that guy he has to pulley that thing. Night and Day difference.

I would have bet on the Cobra winning, but it is what it is.

Good kill for sure!

Most stock terminators make what 360ish to the wheel? Car probably weighs 3400

Even with the belt slip I've got a bigger blower and more cubes, it's not quite as heavy as most people think. With a full tank of fuel, a full trunk, and me in it, it weighed 3840 lbs.

I didn't think he would win, just thought it would have been closer with my car having problems, then again, anything can happen in a street race. I'm still running tiny little 245s, if it was making full power it might have spun too bad and gotten killed...haha

It hasn't been on a dyno
Trapped a little over 118 with the stock exhaust. I had the heat exchanger pump unplugged on accident too, iats were through the roof

I would imagine if everything on his car is stock besides the exhaust, he might trap 114-115mph in mineshaft air. A few choice bolt-ons would really free up some hp. Get your slippage issues figured out and run him again when he mods up!

Good kill OP. I assumed you'd have the edge on your buddy.

Nice kills OP. Looking forward to the videos. Any reason your buddy hasn't done a pulley swap? Figured if he went through all the trouble to Terminate a SN95, he would have pullied it.

He just bought the car, it only has like 3600 miles on it, pretty sure he's going to sell it instead of mod it. It's a 96 mystic cobra with almost no miles, he thinks it's too clean to start tearing into it.
He owns a machine shop and specializes in head and blower porting, mostly Ford, but definitely knows his way around gm engines as well. He also has a turbo lightning and a dohc 5.4 cobra that used to have a ysi and I think it will have twins soon.
Still waiting in the vids as well, don't want to nag him about it though, he's a really busy guy

I'd love to see some pictures of the Terminated Cobra. I've always liked the SN95 body style.

I should have come out, sounds like I might have edged him out a little too depending on the MPH at the start.

From a 40 woul probably be a good race. His car pulls pretty hard and yours will be in second already, much slower or faster than that and I'd imagine you'd jump out pretty quick

mkvamso, how long ago did you get the GTO. The color, year and mods are about exactly what a friend of mine had. Red '05 auto with Maggie 122, small stall, untouched 243 heads, Magnaflow exhaust. He sold the car about 1 - 2 years ago.
