5.0's are a better race for an ls1.

600 lbs is to much weight to over come with the mods the 5.0 has. Time for a CJ intake should give him a much better run

25-45 hp is what most pick up. Should be trapping around 120 mph

Driver? Would not have made that much of a difference. The guy in the Mustang was shifting hard enough to bring the front end up. I think he did fine. IMO, this was more about the weight/aerodynamic than the driver.
