HCI LQ9 vs cammed LQ9
A last minute deal but ran this guy earlier today with a 2002 Z28 running a stock LQ9 with a big cam and dumped exhaust, 4k stall with 3.42's, Fast intake and running on big and littles. Never got a clean run really so hard to say what the real outcome would be. He wanted to run from a 30 mph roll so we did and he jumped me hard with his setup...and plus I was in 2nd, so you can see why lol. Plus he had big and littles compared to my heavy *** wheels and he weighed maybe 150 lbs compared to me and my girl at 320 combined lol. So he got that hard jump and I stopped his pull soon thereafter but could not reel him in. We will try again at some point I'm sure. I know I could pull him if we had a better mutual starting point. Oh and his car was so friggin loud I couldn't even hear him honking it off lol

Well he did want to run from a dig but I suggested a roll cause his car was setup for the strip and I knew I'd get slaughtered. So he wanted a super low roll and it put me in a weak spot but at least better than a dig I guess lol.
Apparently one of his buddy's did get some video. It's really crappy but oh well. I'll post it later when I get home on the computer

Here is the vid I was talking about. First run car comes so I had to back off. Second run I missed 3rd. Last run was good but he kept jumping me hard due to me being in 2nd at 25 mph. Pretty sure I would have pulled him if it was a fair race

Yeah he was in his sweet spot and I was like 3k in 2nd....not good for me at all. He would jump me really hard but I would stop his pull pretty quick, but just couldn't reel him in

Nice cars, lm kinda partial to the lq9 f-body lol. Ya a nicely set up stalled auto can be pretty potent of the slow roll. I have a m6 as well but I have a 9" with a 4.30 gear so it hits pretty good. And this winter im working on my 200 stand alone kit. Are you spraying?

Thanks kingc8r! I tried getting him to go from a better roll but he kept saying about his trans not liking it or some **** like that. He probably figured he would lose if he picked anything other than his perfect rolling speed so I'm sure that's why I got excuses when trying to negotiate lol

I have my block punched of corse, Forged bottom 11.5:1 comp, custom cam, Trick flow heads, fast intake etc etc. "The works" lol. Tick stage 2 trans with clutch master in back of it. Right now I am around 500rwhp. What kit do you have? Are you happy with it?

Nice! So basically a 370 punched to a 408 then? I have a TMS 370 LQ9 with 11.5:1 compression, PRC stage 2.5/5.3 heads, custom cam, LS6 intake, and 4.10 gears on a M6. I like it a lot. Much better than my LS1 for sure. Now that I got my tune fixed Im guessing I should be around 450-460 rwhp n/a, and 560-580 rwhp on the 125 shot

Much better scotty! It now has much more power throughout the midrange. Haven't gone back to the track yet, but I might go this Saturday if schedule and time permits

Yup .030 over. I need to get my tune cleaned up a bit. Its not terrible but not perfect. My cam is a 247/251 624 on a 112 Lsa but it drives fine in traffic lol. What kit do you have? I want to use it, but my experience with it is limited.

If you mean nitrous kit its just a NX single nozzle wet kit with a LNC-2000 to retard the timing. You should go for it man. On your setup I could only imagine how nasty it would be lol

Nice that's what I was looking for. What are you doing for the fuel side? Running off the rail or a stand alone tank? Im thinking of running a stand alone on race gas

Running off the rail and running 93 octane. Running 42 lb injectors with a Racetronix 255 pump and hot wire kit. I also run BR7 plugs as well. Do you run race gas now? What size shot are you thinking?

If tuned properly a 30mph roll will be a top of first gear downshift which is absolutely brutal in a stalled auto and unlike a dig full traction is fairly easy to obtain.
It's about the only roll worth doing with an auto. I've caught a lot of manual cars that don't know better and refuse a dig...but talk them into a 30-35mph roll easy. My car hits harder from there than a dig on the street. The manual car typically spins, has to shift right away, or starts in the wrong gear and falls back enough they won't catch up.
