Default 2004 G35 6MT Comparision

Guys,

A friend of mine just got a 2004 6MT G35 coup. I was thinking of racing him from a 5 MPH roll, what would you think the out come from this would be? Would I slowly pull away, or we would be pretty evenly match? I know the 1/4 mile time is about .5 seconds apart for our two cars. And since I never been to the track before, how many car length is 0.5 seconds in a 1/4 mile?
Currently I have no modification on my car. However, a lid and corsa exhause is a must in the near future.

Regards.

.
They're very similar to the nissan 350Z, low 14 second cars. You should rip him apart.

I will do my best. Once the rain finially stops here, we'll go out and have our run. I'll let you know our results.

You'll leave him so fast he'll think his brakes malfunctioned.

Guys,

Sorry for the late results, we didn't get to compare our cars until last weekend. To my surprise, the G35 actually kept up a bit longer than I expected. It wasn't until second gear that I started pulling away from him from a 5-MPH roll. That's only type of comparison we've done at our local airport runway the past weekend. However, we've the result is pretty consistent from run to run. It's very interesting to see how our gear ratio is different. By end of my first gear, his already was topping out his second gear. Guess that's how they keep up with our brute force. Next time we'll try this from a complete stop to see what the result will be. I'm thinking of dumping the clutch at around 3,000-rpm. Any suggestions?
