We went to the WannaGoFast half mile event in Ocala this weekend. We brought the default car lol...actually the 5th default car lol....which is a mildly built 1996 LT4 Corvette. Every car we raced, probably SHOULD have won but...by the luck of the street(air strip in this case)...street racing is street racing. Power is no guarantee of a win. Such a great time...more videos we have...

It was a lot of fun but I will say, anything with 600PLUS RWHP and RWD had their hands full. I got loose in 4th gear in this car....it's a cream puff when it comes to power....it doesn't get loose in the upper gears ever lol. The track was very dusty..worse on Saturday.

I almost didn't go myself but, since my cousin was going both days, I figured I'd go for support. Ended up paying and driving myself. really glad I did. It HIGHLY motivated me to get to stepping on the two project cars and have them done SOON.

Half mile racing is AWESOME....it is funner to drag race someone for a half mile then to do 1 mile solo passes. At least when you have the outcome that we did. Good times,..you should have gone.... but, now you know for next time.

Damn! That C4 is nasty. You took those other cars by a good amount. The built motor C6 race was most impressive. I did not think you were going to walk away like that.
It seem as thought you have more going on in that C4 than you are letting on.

I'm not familiar with the 1/2 mile events, is this to allow the cars that can't hook worth a damn to have time to come around for a win? :dunno:

Yeah I've been in that situation before. Nerve racking experience thats for sure. Some of those guys that make 1200+ have it way worse.

Thanks dude, more to come. The cross wind we had Saturday, wasn't there really on Sunday so I think that helped a lot.

I think I/we honestly just out drag raced them. You'll see in a video I post,...the car isn't anything crazy. Heads and cam LT4....LT4....meaning a set of badass factory cylinder heads ported, possibly milled. I think it's safe to say we just drove the car hard..and we really are on a bunk tune...short shifting. So the car will go faster,..which is REALLY gonna bug people out then lol. I don't think we thought we were going to either....but you can tell we're both dialed in on the light.

Half mile events are just like quarter mile events, just with less prep and another 1/4 mile to go WOT. It's a lot of fun...especially if you come from a street racing background like myself. I would rather do half mile races then any 1/4 mile race...or a half mile drag race vs a solo standing mile pass. Definitely pushes you.

Thanks for the props on the sound,...it's a custom exhaust we designed and built. All Vbands-aluminum and carbon fiber.

K&N air filter. Which honestly, is WAY undersized now that I mentioned it. Just wait till you see the car next time you. Your gonna ****. Guess I probably shouldn't mention a hellcat went in the 143s...we went 141...stock CTS-Vs went mid to high 130s.....

The car honestly just works. I have been telling people for years if you want to build a fast mile car start with a C4. **** just works.


Glad that dude was all good,...**** looked wild. At those speeds, anything can happen. You gotta be REALLY careful not to upset the car with weird lane changes or jamming on the brakes and throwing off the balance of the car. SinisterC6 had his hands full....I couldn't imagine driving that ****** on this track but I would love to try. Driving this thing has motivated us to finish the 3 vette projects we're close to finishing. Fueled our fire.


Here is another video from that day. This gent says he makes over "600rwhp na" ...you can see he was indeed running me the **** down. Unfortunately....not enough room. Everyone we raced, was all very cool, usually ended with a handshake or a "what the ****....that thing is an LT???"
