Yeah, no clue why he didn't just replace all the injectors. He says he has receipts for everything done to the truck, so that's a plus. Guess the next step will be to check the truck out in person. If I do get it, EFI Live will be the first thing I do.

Does anyone have a list of "good" used diesels? I know jack all about which model years are best for the powerstroke, duramax, and cummins. By that I mean which model year Ram/Silverado/F-250 2500 are the best to buy.

How old you wanna go ? For the power stroke the 1999 7.3 was the best. Cummins can't go wrong with any year model. And the LML duramax 2011-15 are great. I prefer the 15 model though

I've heard that the duramax and allison combo is what makes them so great. Any shortcomings of the Ram 2500 auto? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm lost in the diesel world

No they can hold about 100 hp over stock they don't hold up as well as the Allison or the ford tranny though. His seems to be holding up pretty good on the 130 hp tune .

Isn't there a certain block number that you need to stay away from? I think it was applicable to the first generation of the 24v Cummins. I know that particular block number was prone to cracking.

You can't really go wrong with the Cummins or Duramax. Both of them accept EFI Live and respond well the roughly the same mods. Which truck do you like better in regards to appearance?

I like the look of the chevy more than the dodge.

One thing I really like about the newer Chevy Duramax's is that the back doors are bigger. I hate how on the older Chevy and Dodge trucks (minus the mega-cab) that the back doors are much smaller than the front doors. It seems like both Chevy and Dodge have fixed this with their current Duramax and Cummins offerings. I still think the best looking Chevy is the 07 Classic crew cab, but the brand new body style looks great too. As for the Cummins, I really like the new body style that I think changed in 2010. The mega-cab Cummins is probably my favorite looking of the newer trucks.
