They're getting closer and closer to the mile times from 2012 and 2013. They did the standing mile at 251 in 2012 and 263mph in 2013. Now they're doing 234mph in half a mile. I wonder if they'd max out the top speed by the end of the mile?

Because it comes down to a game of gearing.
They really wouldn't run any faster in a standing mile. They're basically just out of gear when they cross the half mile mark.
So if they changed the gearing for standing mile, the acceleration wouldn't be as great, and they'd end up about the same, or worse by the mile marker.
Also yes, same guy who crashed his GTR a few weeks ago.
Same guy who put his GTR in the dirt in April at AA8.
He literally can't drive for **** honestly. If he starts to lose traction it's like he lifts his hands and says "Jesus take the wheel!"

You know UR has been 250.1 in a full mile at the Texas Mile right?

1000% agreed. Money can do anything. That's why the LS trailer park platform is topps in my book. This car is amazing but in all actuality, the Camaro that set the 244mph standing mile record would probably meet or beat this 1/2 mile run with different gearing. All of it gives me a stiffy though . Absolutely beautiful car.
