Sloyota vs Chevy Driving to work just now, a 2010-2012 5.3l Chevy truck pulls up at the red light right next to me with his windows down blaring country music. I knew he was down to race but sort of wanted to make him look foolish so when the light turned green, I stayed while he took off haha.
Anyways, I speed up and I'm about a car length behind him at about 30mph in second gear & he takes the hit before I even get even with him. I hit it a split second after he hit it. I start to reel him in immediately during 2nd gear and then 3rd comes and he pulls back slightly more & is about a half car out on me (my front bumper was at the middle of his back door). 4th comes and I start to pull harder and I reel him in & pass him in 4th at about 100-105mph. At this point I'm trolling him hard, I did the "row your boat" troll as I was passing him lulz. I had to given how much of a lead/hit I gave him, it was only right.
Governor kicks in at 120mph so that's where I shut down and I've got a full car length on him. He slowed down and didn't want to pass me after that. Even when I slowed down to try to get another run, he wouldn't line up. The inevitable happened, we hit another red light and he pulls up next to me, gives me a thumbs up and has a huge grin on his face. We didn't talk though, my windows don't roll down at the moment :/. He seemed cool though but a little to redneck for my taste lol.
His mods were probably just exhaust as it was stupid loud. Maybe CAI but I don't know for sure. However, it was a good race for Sloyota. Wouldn't have been close if we had an even hit with an even line up, but I still got the W and it was fun. His truck did better than any other 5.3 I've ever raced but it was more than likely due to the large hit he had on me.
My mods are magnaflow muffler.

I ran a brand new RT 5.7l Charger from a dig. He jumped and my VSC did its usual thing, aka cut timing and shift straight to second to prevent tire spin, which allowed him to get 2 cars on me, Then he slowly pulled an additional car on me before not pulling any more. It sounded pretty good, not sure if the stock exhaust has that snarl at WOT. ES350 disappointed me this time.

I'm thinking that a lot of Chevy trucks with the 4.8 or 5.3 V8 had a fuel cutoff at 98mph, at least the 99-2006ish trucks did. I know my 1993 pickup, 2wd, 5 speed, 22-RE, all 110hp of fury will out run one of those trucks given a long enough section of road. It tops out at 105mph, maybe faster, I just didn't have the nerve to go any faster and it sounded like the pistons were going to jump through the hood at that speed lol.

Nice w nate, my uncle has a brand new tundra and ive towed cars and jeeps with it no prob. Was pretty surprised. But I did have the windows up and the visor down so no one could se me drive it because there gay lol
