Default vette vs subie

had my first run with my car in like 2 years. I've raced this car before but its much faster then it ever was. he has beaten a 770whp gtr by a fender so this subie is no joke.
he left on the 1st beep, i played catch up. id say my car is running pretty strong right now and I'm extremely happy.

60 roll, i do not brake boost, he does.
same race, different views.

Looks like you may have redefined fast for the subie owner.

Good run

Thanks, I'm very happy with how the car runs. I honestly was expecting it to be a good close run, my car is just a lot faster then I thought it would be. I'm only on lower boost right now, never turned it up due to spark issues but I think I have that straightened out.

Nice kill! Any ideas what you are putting down power wise? What is your setup?

I'm guessing you started in 3rd gear, which is why he got that big of a jump on you (in addition to him brake boosting)? 60MPH is kind of in no man's land for a boosted C5Z with stock gearing - too fast for 2nd, too slow for 3rd. Looks like you didn't have any problems hooking though!

i started in 2nd. i have a zr1 tr6060 with 325/50/15 mickey thompson et street 2's so 60 in 2nd is a great speed for my setup, puts me right at 4k rpm so the turbos just insta spool since the car hits full boost at 3800ish rpm normally.

It was actually 55° outside the night we raced to the car just Flat out works. I dead hooked. I honestly was expecting a spin fest but my car just hooks like no other lol.

my car hits so hard off the hit that 2nd gear even with the tall gears and tall tires is like 1st, its incredible really. the entire time I'm pulling him I'm in 3rd gear, its setup absolutely perfect for rolls.

The setup is a ERL 427 with prc 255 heads, TTIX twin turbo kit with precision ball bearing billet wheel 6265's on 14 psi right now.
I won't mention the subies setup, he likes it to be secret, I will just say it's the fastest Subie I've ever seen and been in... We are good friends, like I said tho, it has pulled on a 770whp gtr... And that's not a dyno happy number either.

he only jumped because he left on the count of 1 and i wasn't ready lol... he is known for jumping but he said his ebrake wouldn't hold him back enough (brake boost) so i just chased him down.

I haven't weighed my car since it had a blower on it but back then it was 3125 without me in it, I'd say it's around 3200lbs that being on the high side. I plan on taking it to a scale soon and see exactly where it's at. For some reason the car has always be light even with all the added weight from the extra parts.

That's a nasty setup! To be making that much power (probably over 900 to the tires?), and hook on the street like that on a cool night is not an easy task to do.

A Subie of that caliber leaving that early and you freight training right by it really speaks to the level your car is at. Congrats!

Dyno numbers don't really mean anything imo. It made lower 700's on the dyno it was on on 14psi but to me it doesn't mean anything. I want to go to the track and see what the car traps so bad but it's a hard task to do lol.

Another Vette from the shop I had my car done at put down 700whp thru an unlocked auto and ran 9.3 and 148 I think it was.

Are you running him on your bike? That would be an interesting outcome, depending on what speed you choose to go from/to.

Yes the bike. I think he would have the edge down low because I can't use first gear at all. I would actually prefer a higher roll. Ran my buddies bolt on geared busa and gave him the hits and put a large distance on him from 60-160.
