Default Stock 16 SS vs cam only 99 camaro 40 roll

Not many details on either car besides camaro is stock and it sounds like a manual 4th gen with an average driver. Probably small cam from the outcome.

And a 25 roll funky start

Cam only 4rf gen should have killed a stock 12s sis gen....easily. Or maybe the 4rf gens aren't as fast as some would like to believe.

Good runs either way!

If he was cammed it was more than likely an 01 ls6 cam.

Well most average cam only 4th gens trap around 115-120 depending on mods. So if 6th gens are trapping the same, an even race should be what you see mostly. Although some cam only cars are trapping in the low-mid 120s so you never know.

All cam only 4th gens SHOULD run 10's. I mean bolt-on 4th gens SHOULD run high 10's. Am I right?

Stock 6Gs run 10's by this theory. Didn't you know?

4th gen didn't do bad, he needs a bigger cam.

"average" cam only LS1's never come close to 120. 114-116 is more the norm. Yes there have been several eclipse 120+ but that is not what I would call average or norm. Just like most FBO LS1's normally trap 110-114, but there have been some push into the 118 range...again not what I would call average or normal.

All that being said, if the 4th gen in OP was a mild cam with the basic bolt ons, the race looked right too me. Not many in this day and age putting the premium parts on 4th gens, such as Fast intakes, quality lifters, large push rods, shaft mount rockers, Kooks TD exhaust, light weight clutch, EWP's...etc.

interesting run.

id expect a 4th gen with any kind of decent cam to win from any rolling speed.

set up properly and against a stock 6th gen of course.

but 6th gens arent slouches and i could be underestimating them.

I've beaten 3 cammed 4th gens in my bolt on 5th gen (currently probably the most hated and looked down on generation for being heavy and slow). With the exception of only some really well put together set ups, cam only LS1s are nothing special nowadays.

Lol at the guy that said cam only 4th gens can trap mid 120s. Maybe fully gutted with lightweight everything yeah. Otherwise not happening without some bottle fed assistance. The reality of it is that most trap 115-117 in good conditions with a good driver.

I love all the underestimating of the ls1!!! I need to start racing for money since I only have a n/a ls1 Maybe I can make enough money to get a real engine like an ls3 ...
