Default Poppa(S550 Mustang) vs 6gen SS at track

Sorry, not videos, but I have timeslips. SS owner was pretty cool.. we talked for a bit between the runs. DA was 1300ft during our runs. My car has run a best of 7.63 in the 1/8th so far. Unsure why all these tracks can't have the correct date on their slips.. Runs were today, the 15th.

SS was stock according to him. Manual trans. Believable based on trap.

Mustang has Catback, Flex fuel tune(E85), drag pack, and a few suspension items(have not helped ET so far)

First run would have been a very good one, but I had the car in manual shift mode, and forgot to hit the paddle in 1st. Car hit rev limiter and nosed down.. no sense in continuing the run. SS 60ft was good and he had a good run.

Here is the slip:

2nd run the SS spun a little and I won, although I am trapping a couple mph more than him, so I am assuming the gap would increase through the 1/4.

Here is the second run:

Over all, i am impressed with the 6gens. This is the first one I have seen in my area, or at any of the tracks. He had just got it back after someone rear ended him. Car has 1700miles on it. Pretty good guy, and we had some good car conversation... which beats the hell out of all the fussing that goes on in this forum.

Nah.. thats what they run on average stock... It would be a good race between us if the SS had tune/tire.

Nice comparison Poppa. 90 mph in the 1/8 is pretty good for a factory car imo

Yes.. definitely. They run good out of the box. Props to GM for getting the Camaro correct this time around. Hopefully will be able to run into some more of them. Really want o see a tune/tire one at Rockingham to run. At least before I put my stall in the car. Stall will take me out of their reach... at least tune/tire wise.

I was going to try to go the 21st, but a friend is having a Dyno day at his shop, so I will probably go there. And then Sunday the 22nd is a big No Limits race at North Wilksboro that I am going to go to.. only 1/8th mile though.

I might try to make it in the next month or so. Kind of debating doing the cat delete and stall before going back, since the car really isn't going to run any faster than it has.

Nice poppa! props to you too for posting both runs (the w and the L). Your car runs damn strong. Keep em coming man. I am starting to see more 6g's too finally in the Houston area and I'm definitely starting to drool at them more and more. Getting very tempting

Good runs! The new 6G has me considering a GM product besides the Corvette again.

Looks like this manual owner is a pretty competent driver if he could cut a 1.9 60 on the factory street tires.

Technology is beautiful

You failed to notice the 2mph trap difference between us. My lead would have just grown through the 1/4 I have also run 7.6 in the 1/8th..

Its possible... would have to actually do the run. I am putting more power down to the wheels and trap about 2mph more. Looks like based on that his is a 115mph car in the 1/4. Not bad at all stock though.

and honestly, at the track with a win light only race, who ever won the tree would also likely win, considering both cars got a no spin start

Meh, we will agree to disagree. I would get a slow walk on him from a roll. Dig, and a perfect launch by him would still put him behind. I ran .26 faster... almost 3 tenths... 1 more tenth in the 60ft isn't going to make the difference up.

If he beats me 2 tenths at the tree... then maybe he could get the W light.. 1/8th mile. 1/4 mile I would run him down.
