Dang vette driver needs to learn how to shift. Plus you can clearly hear from the exhaust note that it needs an oil change.

LS3 or LS2 Vette? Anything can happen on the street though.

I'd have to say an LS2 if I were guessing.

Good kill. I've seen some fast auto vettes don't get me wrong but when they're close to stock, they aren't what I'd expect. Maybe C7's are different but C4-C6 the autos disappoint me.

I agree, I haven't been impressed with the stock tuning on GM auto cars until I drove an 8l90 6G, and even then, obviously some improvements can be had, but night and day over the 4l60/4l65/6l80 stock tunes.

Stockish LS2 C6 I believe - which have been as quick as 12.2@115 with the auto.

In 2018 both mustang and camaro will be using the same 10 speed transmission. I think they are both absolutely in cahoots and are using brand biased to help themselves sell and don't give 3 ***** about who's better or faster.

Default S550 Mustang vs C6 Corvette

I went to the track back when the LS2 C6s were newer and saw 2 auto C6 LS2 Vettes clicking off 13.50s @ 105 mph so it this vid wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was an LS2.

With how quickly Ford rolled out the Coyote motor (compared to normal production standards), I would strongly disagree.

Ford was able to skate by with the dated 3v due to a long period with little to no direct pony car competition so when GM released the 2010 5G Ford knew they needed to step their game up. The back and forth since then only appeals to us car enthusiasts and consumers.

Ouchie on the stock auto times, Necro. Damn lazy GM tunes on the 4l65 and early 6l80 models.

I agree about the crappy GM auto trans tunes on the 4L series trannies EXCEPT on the 2005/6 GTO's: stock tunes are pretty damned good for the transmission shift points and firmness for the stock power/setup.

True, 4l65 wasn't bad on goat. Stock 4l60 auto ls1 goats are turds though.

Saw one running mid 14's all day to finally get like a 14.2 at the end of the night with the DA at its lowest.

I am upset neither of the big American companies are doing a DCT. DCT's make gm's autos seem like they shift tomorrow. Unbelievable how different and better a DCT drives and it's more efficient to boot.

They have really pushed everybody's expectations on what a traditional torque converter transmission can do. The 8l90 is said to shift as quick as some of the Porsche transmissions.

I drove an 8 speed C7 yesterday, it's fairly impressive. Made my LQ4 WS6 feel slow.
