Default 99 trans am vs LMR 4.6 swap Fairmont

Ok so i have this guy that runs around town with the LMR 4.6 fairmont that thinks its the baddest thing around well I we all went to the track yesterday and i got a chance to run him. Well the first race he hole shotted me and got me by 1 mph at the end being door to door with me the whole race. The second pass we made I treed him bad and ended holding him at a car down the track taking the W. I as well as others were all so happy that someone finally shut him up. Well later last night after we all had left the track he had excuses on why he lost and had him buddy running his mouth saying oh well lets see how well this run plays out for you on the street. Me needing new tires declined for last night and is getting set up for after i get new rears. Anyway the fairmont is FBO, cammed, built face plated trans, gear, e85, all kinds of suspension work and he is spraying. My car the trans am has a BTR stage 3 n/a cam, ls6 intake, stock 799 heads, pacesetter long tubes, phab x-pipe dumped at the axle, 3.73 gear, 42# injector, FTI 4400 converter, built 4l60e by rpm, FTP lid, full weight car outside of the rear seat being taken out, stock suspension except the front sway bar being removed and having a MWC adjustable pan hard bar, I still need a ported throttle body, chris 1313, and my under drive pulley thrown on and get the tune cleaned up being Im on a pretty rich tune. All in all I'm happy with how well the car performed against a purpose built car thats spraying.

I will post the videos when I get them uploaded

Wow so many badass 4.6s around here lately.

Even with all that work, you still should have destroyed him.

Dang, Ford Fairmonts must be made out of fairy dust. They come from the factory weighing less than 3,000lbs lmao. I had no clue.

If you ever look at a Fairmont you can see factory weight savings everywhere. Aluminum bumpers, trunk and hood reinforcements are cut out, etc. They were lighter than the Mustangs.

Thanks guys I'm happy with it for now haha being 92 degrees out didn't really help either haha. Yeah it is pretty easy to spot everything like that and it sucks when you line up next to one and your damn near full weight haha. But here is the other video with me taking the win.

Good job man!

Do you have any pics of your car with those wheels you're running in the video on it? I've been trying to find pics to see what the dark wheels look like on our color car, but cannot find many.

Looks sweet, man! I like that look! I have been noticing the raised white letters again on the back tires at some car shows and the track.

That is badass.

Looks good man, thanks!

Is yours Blue-Green Chameleon and what size wheels and tires are you running? The color looks different all the time, even in the sun, so it's hard to tell. Then on shady days it's just a plain greenish color and looks like a totally different car. I've had many people ask me if I painted my car after seeing it on a cloudy day to a sunny day lol.

"full weight car outside of the rear seat being taken out"

"stock suspension except the front sway bar being removed"

lol

Good run anyway. You'll be really impressed once your car isn't improper.

The early Fox chassis cars are stupid light. Curb weight is under 3K on nearly all models.

Jay the rear seat don't weigh no more than 5-7 pounds, and just because I removed the front sway bar doesn't mean the car isn't stock suspension everywhere else? The car weighed just over 3490 before removing the front sway bar and rear seats. The car still has all the factory suspension out side of the panhard bar which everyone changes, so tell me how it's not near full weight or stock suspension? Thanks though.

Deeohgie69 yeah that's the color haha. I really love the color. I'm running a 15x10 in the rear and 15x4 up front

"Near" is a fun way to generalize about your car and leave out certain details. I like to tell people that my car is near stock.
