.01 faster and 3mph slower... That's with a fantastic driver, the times I was posting came from ******* motorweek and car and driver. When I post the LS1 times from those sources, it's always "Those guys can't drive". We both know that a 111mph trap time should be a 12.6-12.7 car. We never saw it because there were so few of them made, and even fewer that actually made the track. Hell that second link had a terminator cobra that couldn't crack 12's with their drivers.


AFAIK, the record is that 12.89 up there and I know there wasn't a factory 4th gen that was trapping 111mph.

Cobro r was weak for what all went into it and the price. In all honesty it would struggle with old school lt4 cars.

It's a shame they didn't test a ls1 1le car against it. That woulda been a good test!

They don't have drivetrain cooling issues. The tech package cars did not include the coolers and people knew ahead of time it was not meant to go to severe track duty like the Track pack cars.

Why does the new ZL1 need 37 coolers???

To be fair, I think it's 11 coolers to help keep the LT4 alive in the new ZL1.

It's pretty easy to figure out. The faster you go the more power you make the more cooling compacity you need. It's simple when you have a on trick wonder like a gt100. Lap after lap is far tougher to keep things cool than 1 trip down a dragstrip and pop your hood and leave it set for a hour to cool down.
