How could this happen, Im in Wilson, NC just cruisin, and this 00 Vette A4 pulls up wanting to race. Im cool with that. So when the light turns green we bolt, and can you believe it, I pulled away from him. He was just as amazed. Had the car tested and pushed 365 HP. What has been done to my car before I purchased it? All I know of is the K&N and Borla. Fine with me though, Im excited.

Perhaps you have headers / exhaust, and ls6 intake manifold?

I doubt his car was "tested" at 365, but at any rate, a 6 speed LS1 Fbod should be right next/maybe even the norm to beat an A4 LS1 Vette, as long as the fbod. driver is good. I remember my brothers 00 WS6 vert (m6) would stick neck and neck with my buddies 01 Vette (m6), when both were stock. The WS6 ran 12.8@110 bonestock.

get it dynoed, if its truly putting down 365 hp, then have someone that knows what is what take a look at ur engine. either u have mids and ls6 intake, or u have a sleeper cam. nothing better then getting a suprise sleeper cam.

As for 5.8, arent you on the wrong site, this is ls1tech.com, not rustangbroke.com, ive read some of your threads and youve got nothing but junk to say to anyone. 365HP @ the flywheel. I didnt just beat him, I trotted away to about 8 cars infront. But who cares about all that, I just wanted to know what I might have in the inside, cause from the outside it looks like any other LS1 Z28. But hey, 5.8, thanks for the input anyway man, it always feels good to me to read a little jealousy in a mans words. lol

I think he thought your were saying that the Vette was was dynoed at 365. Thats what i thought you were saying at least. If your car was dynoed at 365 fly wheel then thats like 315 at the wheels or so. So I have no idea what happened, the Vette should really not be that far behind. Good kill though, I bet he was confused.

sorry, i appologize, yea, my car was 365, so i guess that at the flywheel isnt good enough. a ten second car is what im looking for. Im not going to mess with this one that much being one of 1402 in the entire world, thinking about an 02 z28 with a 427 and a supercharger, that would definately be my playground

There is nothing peculiar about a Z28 beating a Vette, nothing strange about that at all. It happens all the time, and vice versa (stock for stock). Why would you be surprised?
Also, if you think your 1 of 1402 '99 Z28 will retain any value, you've got another surprise comin' to ya.

1. 365 @ the flywheel isn't enough to trot away to about 8 cars in front. Either you have bad vision, or his vette actually had a Honda B16. Orrrr you are doing some sort of conversion from the wheels back to the flywheel. It is usually easier just to tell us the RWHP numbers. Either way, I ain't buyin the 8 cars thing.

2. Like has been said, your 99 Hugger Orange Z isn't a collector's item of any sort, so mod away.

LMAO. The LITTLE that I know about LS1's is probably 1 million times more than you presently know. As to your elementary level grammar, I just asssumed that the vette was "tested" at 365 hp. Please tell me how your car was "tested" at 365hp, at the flywheel.

As to the jealousy comment, I would think that you would have more brains than post something of that effect if you truely have read my other posts. Obviously, I own a Cobra (per sig) so you can't be serious that you are drawing jealous from a (I beat a "VETTE") thread, now could you??????

Now, out of curiousity, how do you know it was an A4, and how do you know it was an 00???

Lastly, I believe that whoever told you the car was tested at 365 was trying to get one past you. Believe it or not, LOTS of LS1's with the T56 dyno from 300-325 RWHP, which is equal to 350-365 flywheel hp. In other words, I do not believe that the motor was ever "tested". Why in the world would he have the motor pulled from the car in the first place??? Did you not question him?

Now, I have went to your home page and found this...

That is on par with a mid 13 second quarter. That's AVERAGE, and is clearly NOT enough to put 8 cars on a vette..
IF:
The driver is decent (it's an A4 so that is ruled out)
The vette get's traction (this is always a possibility)
The vette let off right away, possibly do to traffic, other obstructions, or just because he is not a street racer.

While I am not going to call BS on the kill, since it "could" theoretically happen, I would just like to inform you that I am sure that there is NOT much more done to your car (borla, possibly a lid (better than K&N)).

1.) 5.8 will put 8 cars on you without leaving 2nd gear.

2.) Surely the vette was not racing.

3.) You need to do more homework on your car.
