Stock vs. Stock
My G/F's brother just traded in his '96 Mustang GT Auto. for a 2001 Mustang Cobra vert. I see that they are rated at 320 hp and 316 tq and run 1/4 mile times around 13.5 (mag times)
Now I am pretty sure that with that time and those numbers the cobras in '01 are not S/C so it is basically a DOHC(?) motor.
How would that compare to a Stock A4 LS1 F-body w/ all the features?

I ran into an 01 Vert M5 when my Z28 had only a Catback. From a roll. I was just barely pulling on it. I would think that it would not be to much of a challenge for an LS1.

ull win off the line stock if u can drive, ull win from a roll if she is auto, prlly if it was a stick too,(no offense, women are usually less agressive when driving/shifting).
the cobra is okay stock, but u cant get much more out of it. it also has no forged internals , so dropping an eaton from ebay (which would be super cheap, like 400-500$) is not really gonna get much more cuz u cant push it like the terminators.

Stock for stock. You will rip its doors off from a roll and show it your buisness end from a dig. A stock pre-03 cobra is literally bringing to little to the table to play with a stock f-body.

Stock for stock it should be a little closer than people may think. If the cobra is a stick and you have an auto you will probably win but it should be within a car( If he can drive the stick)

putting my 2 sense in............4.6's have nothing in the lower rpm's, if his is a stick, catch him at a complete stop, and he'll never catch up
but i agree---you have to know how to drive ur car
