Default Raced a 05' GT. Sorry guy!

Well I was on my way to work and saw him getting on the interstate so I got next to him and he didn't want any. So I speed up and got in front of him. Then he decides to go ahead and try me. He whipped into the other lane and he has it floored. So I nail it doing about 70. He didn't have a chance. I jumped a car length on him and by the time I hit 100 It was about 5 car lenths. I slowed down and he turned off. He had paper tags and all. I felt a little sorry for him. How lucky my first GT I ever raced was an 05'

SS A4 Long tube headers and lid.

5 car lengths? You sure he didn't give up? The 05's dyno CLOSE to 300rwhp/330rwtq bone stock.....you're not putting down THAT much more either. I'm not bashing, just curious

The flywheel HP is 300...I heard they dyno more like 260-270 RWHP. I think it's possible.

Yes, advertised flywheel HP is 300 but they're very underrated. Theres a few on SVTPerformance.com and ModularDepot.com that have claimed 280-295rwhp/320-330rwtq in stock trim. I've personally seen one put down 286/333 a few weeks ago. Unless theres an 80 year-old fart behind the wheel, I just dont see an auto Z28 with only headers and a lid putting 5 cars on him.

I have a post on here as well running one with exhaust louder than mine and I whipped his *** so bad while actually spinning, he turned at the light and when I turned around, there he was going back in the original direction we were in before. He was revving at me and calling me to start with. Bitch is home cryin.

Nice kill

It was cool that the guy ran you with a brand 'spankin' new car.
I would like to add that I think he let up after he saw how bad *** your ride is. I say that because 5 car lengths from 70 to 100 is quite a bit.

Either way, nice kill. Be safe but have fun

I raced one two days ago and put buses on him .... I would give them only slightly better performance then the last GT models ... maybe somewhere between the last GT and the Mach. Advertised 300hp, realistically 270-280 to the wheels, from what I've heard/seen.

Shame, all those good looks, and they forgot the most important part ... to make them fast.

You can always buy an SVT Focus if the Mustang is quick enough for ya.

Nothing even remotely hard to believe about it. Nice Kill!

05 GTs DO NOT dyno anywhere close to the numbers you quoted.

So you're telling us that the '05 GT only puts down 10-20 rwhp more than a '93 LT1 f-body? No wonder I didn't have a problem with some of the '96 to '01 GTs. My LT1 isn't modded too much but I'm sure the CAI, MadZ28 tune, and Flowmaster cat-back help at least a little. If a cat-back gives 3-5, the tune guarantees 13, and the CAI gives 8-10, I should be right on par with the stock '05 GT.

Ahhh, wait for the aftermarket stuff to get out there. Also, I think the GT500 addresses the "Not fast enough issue" or at least, it should.

you are right. alot of time's in that kind of race if the other driver is scared that if he's cought going that fast he will get a big fine or kill someone or go to jail so they let off the throttle with give's the other driver the impression that he just put buslength's on him.

So what kind of rwhp numbers am I gonna need in my future LS1 to beat these high dollar GT500s, Shelbys, Z06s, Vipers, etc.? From what I've heard I'll need at least 500 rwhp and I'll have to make the tires stick like glue also. I can't believe how crazy some of these beasts are getting. Hell, pretty soon there won't even be a performance aftermarket, lol.
