I'd say it's a V6 with Z28 badges. No way in hell a Maxima, even "mild modified", would pull a stock Z28.

On the other hand though, if everything was on the up and up, kudos to the Maxima driver.

You have to keep in mind, where this was filmed, people dont race to a certain limit, i.e. to a certain speed or distance. Races start from the beginning of a stretch of road until the end of that road, which can be 4 or 5 miles.
V6 Camaros are not available in the Middle East (Gulf) market. You only get the Z28, and all stock Z28s I've seen had 2.73 rear gears. I have only seen one V6 that someone posted there brought in as a POV.

Closest thing I've seen is a lid/muffler SS getting pulled for like 1-2 seconds by a new supercharged maxima... after that it pulled hard and it was gone, leaving the poor maxima in the dust. That car musta been stock vs heavily modded/sprayed maxima to win. No way mild mods on both would that Maxima win...

the second day i had my car i easily walked a newer (01) or so 225 horse maxima and i was an all stock 98. a 300 hp maxima would be different but considering the f-body and maxima are fairly close in weight and the maxima's complete lack of torque compared to the z and its fwd drivetrain id say it would be nearly impossible for a 300hp maxima to beat an f-body. and since when is a 300hp n/a maxima "mild"? a guy i talk to on the internet has a supercharged auto max that runs 14.90's. btw, which car was winning in that vid? i could barely tell what was going on.

My 96 Mercedes-Benz E320 (I6) beat a 97 LT1 Formula. I beat him from a stop, I beat him from a roll (we did it from 35, 60, and 80), and I even beat him in the top end.

Not only that, but my Mercedes was completely stock. It weighed 4,500lbs+, and was factory rated at 217hp or so.

Maybe some day I'll tell you about he Mustang Cobra and modified Mustang GT kills? But then again, maybe not.

I'm pretty sure the Maxima is a lot lighter than an F-body. I could be wrong.

By 100-200lb, depending on the package. Maxima - ~3300lb, f-body ~ 3450lb...

...actually, since it's 97, it should be lighter and , from what I remember, just a little over 3000lb, but it also had only 190hp stock.

..then again, if we are talking middle east - lumina's there are RWD and have LS1's - so I'm not sure we are even talking US-specs Maxima..

And everyone has the money for it too. As for the guy with the Mercedez E320 I find that hard to believe that your car beat an LT1 f body with 217 hp and weighing 4500 lbs.

Thats a hp to weight ratio of 1 hp to 20 lbs. An f body has a hp ratio of 10 to 1. (345 hp to 3450 lbs). Even an LT1 (275 hp) wouldve been quicker than your Mercedez. Sometimes when you think your racing your really not. That guy probably didnt think you wanted to race and was driving casually.

AS far as I know, the Infiniti is just a luxury edition of the Maxima...the only difference I know of between the US and ME Maximas are different rear fascias.

I watched the vid and came to the conclusion that it is a 93-97 Camaro. If you watch closely and use pause then you can see the headlights are the recessed in the front facia. Someone check me and see if I am right.

its definently an ls1 camaro, its only got its fogs on so it kinda throws you off but the big open grille at the bottom is definently ls1 fascia.

Importdestroyer I think that you talk too much. Everyone is entitled to like whatever car they want, as long as its fast I like it. I just happen to prefer Mustangs. All of your bashing is uneeded. yeah I am from the Mid East and our stock maxima is 225hp not 190hp

about the E320 .. I believe it is too hard to the E55 AMG to beat a camaro

ill stick up for the E55 since it is a very fast 4-door car that runs around 13.7@105. I think a e55 would give a LT1 a good run.
