i have to call <img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" /> on that one. no way if both these are are unmodified that a maxima will even touch a z.

Post Maxima mod's. I'd say it's dangerous to put that much power in a maxima - I had one ('99) for couple months and it really doesn't hold the road..

...I assume z28 had V8 in it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I don't think he'll be able to beat this MAXIMA even if he put a Super engine in his Z28 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

That is kind of iffy. First off I too would like to know exactly what mods that maxima had. Secondly is the fact that they were going from a roll, and its hard to tell from this video exactly how the race went up until the point the cars passed by the camera. Did the maxima get a big jump, could the guy in the camaro not drive, i couldn't even get a good read on how fast the cars were going. Listen to me, all these excuses. I suppose in the end the maxima won, and that's the whole point. (Lets see a dead stop one next)

Now lets see you beat a mildly moded M6 or A4 LS1 car from a roll. I think that Z was in bad running condition it still should have pulled you pretty easy. You may have 301hp but I doubt that you are anywhere close to a good running LS1 cars torque.

heads+cam... what exactly did you mean by that? To the best of my knowledge Maxima has DOHC VQ engine with 2 cams, so how many camshafts did you replace??

Hey do you actually own a Saleen S7? That vid doesnt do anything for me. There are to many variables to a race, the Max couldve got the jump on the LS1, the LS1 couldve had issues and the driver couldve misshifted etc. If the Max was putting out 300 hp was it at the front wheels or at the flywheel?

And the max isnt much lighter than a f body either. I think in the neighborhood of 3300 lbs. So with only 300 hp at the flywheel that isnt enough to pull on a LS1.

Torque matters too, and that max isnt making very much. Probably 230-250ft.lbs. if NA. Turbos tend to have higher tq #s due to the back pressure increase.

Saleen S7, are you the one that gave me the vid? I thought that the person driving it was the one that gave me the video and he didn't have any brothers?

What I know about that race, is that it was a Z28 with Z28 engine in it (not badged) with basic mods (filter and off-road pipe, etc.), and the Maxima was mildly modified with Stillen parts (no forced induction).
It was a planned race, the Max didn't jump the Camaro. The Camaro driver knows how to drive and was seriously pissed off when he found out about the video. How could he have mis-shifted if it was an A4? The race didn't end at the point where the passed the cameras, they kept going till the end off that stretch of road...
If you listen closely you can hear them shifting just before reaching the camera. I think its the 3->4 shift.

Yeah no ****, notice how were against everyone. Not just the imports, but the euros, and the ******* ford guys too! I still think the Mosler MT9000 with a good ole LS6 would give a Saleen S7 a beating personally.

Yeah lets get a camera and take some vids of a stock f body beating an altima with skyline badges and really shake up the camera with intentional poor cinematography.

Well have the camera mounted at the most fucked up angle possible like in the vid provided proving how weak f bodies really are. Funny how I never stepped into a ford forum yet or a import forum for that matter. But they all come here.

LS1 and LS1 tech it seems is the place to be for all enthusiasts. And they all talk smack about how their import did this and their ford did that. I like mustangs, I dont know why they have such a grudge. Its only until now that ford woke up and started making the mustang right.

Other than their modular DOHC 4.6 their other so called V8 is crap. Anything with 8 pistons making 225 hp after the 80s is a joke. I hope you dont get to offended Saleen S7 I just dont see the point of your vid. You know that max would get his *** beat by anyone here with a lid.

Probably without it, I know guys running low 13s from the factory. A friend of mine went 12.2 with her firehawk. She did have a Vig 3500 stall and a 60 shot of juice though. But 12.2@114 is still good for maybe 1k in mods.

Hey go to www.racingflix.com if you wanna see some real vids. GM is almost in every vid. Whether its 427 ci LS6 vette giving a murcielago a run for its money on the freeway, or a heads/cam LS1 camaro going toe to toe with a BPU supra or a turbo camaro wiping the floor with a supra were in there.

Oh yeah and so is ford, a 03 Cobra getting his *** handed to him by a talon on the freeway. And then theres Harlan giving 2 GSX-R 1000s a run for there money in his twin turbo firehawk. Go check it out for yourself.

Yeah good thing he had the vid, I think like 6 months back somebody with a civic came in here talking about how he beat a camaro stoplight to stoplight. I think it was after the release of slow and the curious.
