this is off topic..but i ran into a crystler 300m with a hemi in it on the freeway a few weeks ago.
with an old man driving it none the less, with his wife and a weekends worth of clothes on a rack in the back (and god knows what elese in the trunk).
he kicked my *** from a 70mph roll. very bad, until 145 when he let off.
i was amazed that 1: this older gentleman would run that fast and 2: his car would do that to mine...
I was impressed =)

You were in the T/A? If he beat you, that bad then he must have had something done to it. Well, I guess anything can happen on the street...

Are the SRT-8 300c's out yet?

^ I'm thinkin' that's what he ran into was an SRT-8. Unless heavily modded, no way in hell is a regular 300C gonna spank a lighter, more aerodynamic car with similar power to those kind of speeds (especially having the full exhaust work done).

Either way: props to Grandpa for running ***** out like that! These days, the elders just putt around at 10 below the limit.

Were you in something other then the Nova? I don't know what all you have or what you've done o any of them... but he's one of the many that have fallen into the hype that a Hemi is gold. I had one in an 03 2500... traded it in for toy in sig.

As far as I know, there really isn't anything out (at least nothing significant or other then the juice) that are for the 300Cs or the Magnums. Hell, there's hardly anyhting out for the trucks either for that matter... and no, the SRT-8s aren't out as of yet.

Not all of us elders putt around at 10 under. I've got 6 grandkids and you'd be hard pressed to keep up with me.

yeah, the srt-8 300cs came out in march. i knew an old gentleman who had a 97 fully built(every part of the car) lingenfelter camaro convertable that hauled ***. the first time i rode in it he laughed hysterically, and then stared at me and said "i'm trying to remember if i took my medicine today" and then stomped on it, sending us sideways up the street until he mashed on the brakes, stopping on a dime in front of the stop sign a few hundred feet from where we started.......
performance mods are slowly trickling out for the lx cars(headers, exhuast, even some tuning), but i'm guessing that was an srt8 pops was driving.....

edit: shoot, i was just looking around the magnum and 300 sites and they even have a couple performance cams from comp cams now for the 5.7 hemi, the tuning must be getting less problematic
