2000+ SS vs 2002 WS6
Mods on SS: Flows, whisper lid, k&n, Lca's and phr. It was an auto too!
Mods on My car: Check sig.
So anyway...heading back home from a long days work, I run into an NBM SS on a long straight away covered with traffic. I look over at him, I pounced on the throttle to show him I'm looking for some fun. He then acknowledged my invitation. As the traffic grew ever so lightly, we finally had two lanes for ourselves. At the light, I waited for the green. I held the clutch to where the disc will engage. When the light turn green I let off the clutch smoothly and pushed on the gas with proper pressure. We were neck in neck until 5k rpms. It seems like his auto shifted for him at this point when I continued on to redline(I gave him a wave when I passed him). By early second I had 1/2 car length on him, from my rear bumper to his front bumper. As speed became an issue, we slowed down to the next light and gave him a thumbs up. He returned the gesture. I enjoyed the race that night...

Just because you were at 5k doesnt mean he wasnt at redline. We have a 3.08 first gear you dont. Auto SS's are at 6k at38mph. With both of you mods the race went the way it should have. Congrads by the way!!

Re: 2000+ SS vs 2002 WS6
98SS u wrong autos have a 3.06 first gear and a SS has the GU5 rear end which has 3.23 gears in it and with the factory shiftpoint (5750) they change into second at 45 mph if u have a baseline Z28 u can get 2.73 gears. Those are ur only 2 options. 3.42 is the only option on an M6 car unless u get a ZL-1, Mecham, or berger.

Like I said in post above, at 5k rpms he fell back about a half-a-car length. I was still running to 6k. His front bumper was at my door. When I threw it in 2nd I somehow bounced in front to put the "1/2 car length on him, from my rear bumper to his front bumper. " No . Don't get me wrong I like camaros, hell, I was going to buy one but I liked the sexy lines of the bird. Not tryin' to start anything...

Re: 2000+ SS vs 2002 WS6
Now my brother was watching our whole race and participated in it as well. My bro was at my rear bumper in his 99'V6(200hp, stock) camry , when the light turned green he slammed the go pedal as well. I had no idea he was tryin' to keep up with us(glancing in the rearview as his head lights were blending in with the horizon) . He told me when his car shifted at 5k rpms we were pulling hard and he couldn't catch up. He told me he felt like he was in a golf cart and that he had no chance. I'll stop now, I'm talking to much!
