01 Silverado

As I am leaving my friends house on my way home... a black stang appears in my rear-view mirror (2 lane road). From the front I could tell he had a body kit on it... and as he got closer I could see a Cobra R wing on the back. Though it was a V6, I wanted to put him in his spot to show him what a 4800Lb truck can do. As we turn left onto Louetta he gets into the left lane, I fall into the right. At about 20 when he gets next to me, I punch it... no response. About 2 secs later he floors it and we're off. Hmm... I sure hope he caught a glimpse of the LS1Tech.com sticker as I flew on by him to about 65 (Didnt need to go anymore, he was too far behind) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . Then I knew what was gonna happen... an "american" ricer flyby... so yeah I just laugh as I see the rustang go by. I got even more laughs when he drove by and he had a fake Saleen rear bumper with 2 empty holes for the exhaust pipes lol.
Hmmm... I'd love to race him again, maybe this time from 0-100 just to get some more fun.

I had the same thing happen. I always see this

yellow fake saleen in the woodlands. First time

I saw it I rolled down the window to try and hear

it until I saw the V6 symbols. Gotta hate that

If you mean Mustang red white and blue decals then that doesn't necessarily mean its a V6. My dad's 01 Saleen has those on the sides and i guarantee you it isn't a 6 cyl.

Just so everyone doesn't think I'm seeing things, the V6 symbols were aftermarket chrome symbols put on where the stock symbols were on the fenders. Never seen em on any other car.

LOL..that reminds me when i talked **** to a guy who had a red v6 mustang and was sitting on his hood acting all badass in a parking lot. I went up to him and asked him if he wannted to run, he said sure(he was actually a nice guy)

he got in his car and started it up.My mouth dropped. It was a v6 body with a Saleen S351 engine putting out 460rwhp(he claimed). I believed him so we ended up just talking and not running. His exhaust was dumped under the car so it was more of a sleeper.He showed me his low 11 timeslips. That was the 1st time in my life that i felt stupid talking **** to a guy in a stang.

For example against your thoughts... How many V8 Mustangs have you actually raced that raced YOU TOO, with the outcome in YOUR favor? Not many, no doubt. GM's quickest production pickup(92-93 models aren't in production) doesn't even come close to outrunning a matching year GT. So why act as if it does. And although the average LS1 is about 5 tenths quicker than the average GT, it's not like the Mustang, overall, is such a slow car by comparison. Any car can be made quicker than when stock, regardless. Oh and btw, when's the last time you saw a stock GM truck outrun a stock 5.4L Lightning? I haven't seen that happen either. V6 Mustangs and V6 Camaro's, as well as most cars powered by a V6 are rather cumbersome in a drag race anyway. Joking is fine but, let's keep it, at least in some small way, in perspective. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Sure, it's an LS1 forum, but that's not entirely a reason to speak badly about another brand (any other), especially when you insinuate that GM trucks are fast... Trust your instincts here (and your owning one), they aren't. At least not the way GM provides them.

There is too much mustang love going on in this room I mean come on Ford has to put a blower on their car to keep up with GM and then they say oops we didnt make a strong enough motor for it so we have to stop production. The bottom line is Gm only needs one cam and one engine with no power adder to hand ford products there ***.
