Default 2000 z vs boxster

I was out on Sat in my 2000 z when I catch a light next to a new boxster 5 speed. I dropped the shifter into first so the tranny wouldn't shift too soon on me. The light turns green and I ease into the throttle not sure if he wanted to run or not, and I hear him get into the throttle really hard. He gets even with me at about 20 before I hit it and by the time I hit 2nd gear I had pulled 1 car length on him. I let out about half way through 2nd and I had at least 3-4 car lengths on him. He goes flying by me, I quess to help himself keep face with his girlfriend. The boxsters are pretty pathetic.

I beat two boxter s's in my old 92" RS 25th 305 with four people in my car. Of course it did have some things done to it, but still. That is the weakest car porsche makes. It's so sorry that porsche makes a car that slow. Well anyways nice kill!!!

yeah its pretty pathetic for someone to pay so much money for a "sports car" and the thing can barely get out of its own way. OH well

Wait a minute, there is no way you beat a Porche! They are the fastest things on the road. when one pulls up next to me I slump down in my seat and pretend I don't see him. Thoes things are fast

Way to hand it to thoes rich snobs

a coworker bought a new boxter. Plain vanilla inside.

its a 5 speed and he took me on a joy ride (driving like a maniac) to impress me. As it turns out it has something around 220 hp. Although not super fast, it sticks to the corners very well. He went so fast around corners that, in most cars, the wheels would have broken loose and skidded for sure but his tires never made a sound. This car was build for handling, not so much for speed. That is the beauty of a mid-engine car.

It is really just a status symbol. I think that is the #1 reason why people buy these cars. I have to laugh a little

1. because of the cost of the car for what it is and

2. the amout of dealership raping that occurs after the fact on normal maintainence. (ie $200 for an oil change and $700 for 2 new tires)

God forbid it should ever break down. There are 2 types of people that drive these cars... The ones with too much money, and the ones who want it to appear that way.
