last tuesday night i went out in the z06 and as i am getting on the highway (826 south) i spot this c6 ahead of me. i pull up to his door at about 60mph and i see two young guys inside the car. they both look at my car and point at my z06 emblem. i kept pacing them and pacing them at about 60-70mph. they punched it and i let them go, but as i keep observing their car i see that they hit the brakes and wait on me. oh really??? i catch up to them and line up next to them rolling at like 70mph and we both punched it. we stay neck to neck and i finally start slowly, but slowly pulling on him. i look at my hud and see 167mph!!! holy crap!! he then proceeds to get off the highway and tells me to follow him. we rolled down the window and agreed to race at a low mph roll (25mph). of course, this time i turn my active handling off and punched it. i imediately put a car on him and hit my rev limiter in first gear. hit second gear and hit my rev limiter again ( making him gain on me) he is at my door, but once i am in third all the way at the top i started pulling again.
we both shut down at almost 160mph. we pulled in a gas station and started talking. it turned out that his car was an auto??????? wdf?? damn.. i could have swore that his car was a stick!!! i am very very surprised at what i saw a c6 auto can do. he got upset at the fact that i beat him twice and he is making $800 dollar payments..ouch...or so he said..

damn i drove a c6 auto soon as they arrived and the 04 zos we had would stomp up and down on it with no problems i figured you would have had him by a few car lengths?

may be if we would have started at a lower mph roll since the z06 is way lighter so i am sure i would have moved a lot quicker, but we were both rolling at a high speed and the c6 does very well at high speeds. also, it isnt car lenghts..may be a car at the most. it was damn scary to go at 160mph though. you can definetely feel how fast you are going in the z06. i dont know if it is related to the weight of the car or what.

My buddy has an 01 Z06 and we put a car and 1/2 on an Auto Z51 C6 from a 60 roll. I was at the North Texas Fbody meet this past weekend and they had a portable dyno, they put a new C6 Vert Auto w/Z51 package on it and it put down only 327Rwhp?!?!?!? Everybody was surprised.

Well Insomniak's Z06 put down 341rwhp, so that may explain how he pulled away so easy, I thought the race would have been alot closer, I'd hate to see what I'd do vs a C6 since I pull a car to a car and half on Insomniaks Z06 at that time ( he has a G5X3 cam now)

from what i understand and i have read everwhere the 04 z06's are much better tuned and have the best springs from any other year. i guess it means that they probably dyno a little higher than other years too.
