Default Trans am VS Corvette

About a month or two ago I posted up about a race between me and my friends dad's 04 corvette vert. Well today was one of the first days he had it out this year and the weather was perfect for some street racing. So as expected we drove out onto and empty expressway and had a couple of runs from a roll. He had the top down and I had me T-tops off and we are both autos. We started each race at 55 and went til about 105. The first run I honk three times and he gets the jump so he ends up pulling a car on me right off the bat and we stay dead even til the end where he has me at a car. Second run we honk and both take off at the same time and we stay even til about 75 when he moves out half a car and we again stay dead even with him 1/2 car at the end. All in all i knew a roll race wasn't necessarily to my advantage but i was kinda surprised he didn't pull a little more, I'm sure he would have really started to gain had we taken it past 120. By the way he is completly stock and my mods are in sig.

Granted, he was a 'vert which puts him at a heavier weight than a coupe, but Vettes have a weight and aerodynamic advantage over us, so the faster you go, the more of an advantage they have over us.

Still, good stuff!

I ran my buddy in his dad's '99 C5 M6 coupe on the highway a few times from a 45-roll to about 110-120, and every single time we'd be neck and neck up to about 80, when he'd slowly start to pull, and each race would end with him being about a car up.

Definitely intense and exciting races!

Well next is a converter, headers, and true duals that should result in a nicer outcome for me.

^ He could be at a high elevation. New Mexico has many high areas, so the elevation would also affect the Corvette seeing how both engines are N/A.
